Skins are 24-13 all time vs rams. I know that doesn't mean much but still.

OL needs to bring their A game for this game in order for us to win. I have faith in Callahan to have them ready.

Yeah, having Callahan there looks like it's going to propel the OL into respectability quick. I think people forget just how much a good position coach can help a team.

I think success last week will give them some confidence and if they can hold their own against the Rams DL could really have them playing well this year which will help settle the entire offense this year.

I'm actually worried about Trent Williams this game. There are always 1-2 "speed" rushers that he seems to have a problem with. Quinn is one of those guys. He can absolutely handle anyone that's a bull-rush guy or in between, but when he has trouble, it's against speed guys.

Redskins SS Jeron Johnson "has fallen out of favor" with the coaching staff.

Johnson was signed as a free agent away from the Seahawks in March and was expected to be the starting strong safety. Duke Ihenacho later beat him out for the job, and after Ihenacho's season-ending broken wrist in Week 1, Johnson still isn't expected to see the field

Honestly, this game makes me nervous more than most on our schedule. STL has a nasty D, and they always seem to play us well (and we often piss ourselves against them). And the Rams special teams are among the best in the league.

This game will say a lot about our respective teams -- is STL for real, or do they just match up well against the Seahawks? Has their offense become legit with Foles and their speed receivers? Is our O line capable of consistent good performances against strong defenses? Can Kirk get into a rhythm, and can we find anyone capable of establishing a deep threat with DJax out? Can our secondary play 60 minutes? (Heck, can they play 45?) And can our coaching staff dial up some imaginative plays against a strong defense?

And will there be more blue & gold than burgundy & gold at FedEx? (The amount of teal last week was disturbing.)

I think this will end up more high scoring than last week, but I am not optimistic we will win. Rams 27, Skins 21.

Run game: The gameplan can carry over for the most part. The game plan for Suh can be applied to Donald.

Overall run game thoughts:
(1) Commitment to the run. Its gonna be needed because the Rams are actually betteragainst the run then Miami.

(2) Running creatively. If base run game fails/struggles (don't count on our TEs to block the POA) there need to be contingency running plans. I think running from spread i.e. forcing the defense to take a LB or DT off the field through personnel groupings and alignment

Passing game: The Rams secondary is average. There is no Brent Grimes or Rashard Jones. The quality of their pass defense is a function on their pass rush. Looking at the numbers and personnel Miami's pass defense is better then the Rams.

Moreso then the Fins this game I can see the passing game being more of a factor and putting a little (not the whole game but a little) more on Kirk's shoulders to attack their secondary.

Like Bill Parcel's used to say 'think players not plays'. And the forgotten man in our passing game has been Garcon. I want to see Pierre involved in the gameplan early so he and Kirk can start to feel good and get a rhythm. Something easy like a screen and a hitch. But Garcon needs help through scheme to get open. Its something Kyle did very will, stack formations, bunch formations etc. There need to be 'Garcon' specific plays early and often.

Keep using Reed, especially use him to help identify coverage. Move him around, split him out wide. Involve Carrier in similar fashion.

I think the next man up is not Ross or Roberts but Grant. To complement Garcon it helps having someone out there that can run the route tree AND can seperate on their own without the aid of scheme.

I hope they don't get away from the running game:

What happened to this guy? He was suppose to compete for the job. Now he can't beat out Trenton Robinson? WTF?

maybe trent robinson is actually good?

we didn't pay johnson enough to be too worried about it, and i haven't seen enough of either to really know one way or the other. the defense played well last week though with robinson in (amerson was the weakest link, followed by maybe k robinson in coverage), so i'm going to trust the decision was based on play and not contract or reputation.
