Redskins vs Rams pre game thread

I really don't believe in trying to predict any single game. I think we can all look at our team's strengths and weaknesses and get a gut feeling of where we think our team might end the season in terms of W's and L's. Along the way, we may win some games against superior teams and lose some against the weaker teams we play. That's just the way it goes in the NFL.

You may think I'm crazy, but one of the reasons I was encouraged by the Dolphins game is that the Dolphins didn't beat us. Were beat ourselves. We showed we could stand up to a well-regarded team even though we're just beginning our team building. With that in mind, why can't we beat the Rams if we clean-up some problem areas in this next game? I think we can.

As the old saying goes... Games are rarely won, they are usually lost.

This team needs to learn how to win. Otherwise its just more of the same.

@TarikCSN: If ILB Martrell Spaight (concussion) can't suit up Sunday, Jay Gruden said rookie Terrance Plummer might get called up from practice squad.

If we lose Sunday it could really be a bad season like 3 to 4 win season. Teams that start out 0-2 don't make the playoffs and with all our bs drama it will get bad fast. So hopefully they win and I believe they will.

I think that's normally true but shedding the drama and playing physical football should help. I think the guys understand that wins aren't going to come very often this year but they can see that everyone is starting to row in the same direction..

The Skins have pro bowl level talent at LT, RB and WR - fortunately the last guy is out. Still, Pierre Garcon and Andre Robert are quality WRs, arguably better than we saw last week. The TE Reed is capable of having a big day too. The line and QB play are what have killed them lately. Seems like the line is coming along, and while Cousins is probably below average at this time of his career he's got a good arm, good pocket presence, and a decent grasp of their system. IMO he's an upgrade over the two QBs we saw last year, Colt McCoy and RGIII.

Huh? You ain't from around here, are you, son? The thought of the Redskins making the playoffs this season hasn't entered my mind once. I'm just looking for good effort and progress, as a team. We can start thinking about the playoffs in a year or two.

Playoffs??? Yeah I think we just really need to try and win a game. Doubt we'll beat the Giants next Thursday. Can't go 0-3. Would like to see more from the coaching staff this week. Try and gain a possession with a fake punt, push the ball down field a little more too. Just need to be more aggressive overall.
