I completely understand the wide range of pessimism with regard to this upcoming game with STL, and for that matter the entire season. After all, and I think someone on here said this to some degree, until they start actually winning it’s hard to get on board with a positive outlook. However, I am cautiously optimistic about this game and the season, just based on the small sample size of one game vs a very good Miami team – a team that some have picked to overtake the Patriots in that division. Whether you buy into that scenario or not, they are still a very good team, and the Redskins played right with them, even dominated early – ultimately to lose due to (in my opinion) excessive and untimely penalties, special teams, and perhaps some overly conservative tendencies.

I think if they can get the same O-line play, not give up the big play on ST (maybe even make one of their own), and take some shots down the field – they simply win, by more than a TD.

If not, then they have little chance.

I for one hope Ross or Crowder has a big game.

my problem with getting optimistic is the penalties. If we had played the miami game, and lost because of the 1 ST blunder, I would be more encouraged. But penalties don't just go away, and this coaching staff hasn't shown that they can clean those up.

Penalties alone will cost us games even against teams that we otherwise would have beaten (captain obvious agrees with this statement)

Playoffs??? Yeah I think we just really need to try and win a game. Doubt we'll beat the Giants next Thursday. Can't go 0-3. Would like to see more from the coaching staff this week. Try and gain a possession with a fake punt, push the ball down field a little more too. Just need to be more aggressive overall.

That is the only way you are going to beat teams that are man to man more talented than you, other than a few lucky bounces. Like the surprise onside kick to start the second half in SB44, that took guts and swung the momentum.
Nothing I hate more than the conservative approach against a superior opponent. Right now after beating last year's NFC Champion last week, the Rams are the superior team.

Penalties were the biggest killer last week imo. That one drive I think we had 4-5 consecutive penalties. Drive killers.

Beating last year's NFC Champion last week shows that the Rams were superior to the Seahawks in week 1, at home, in overtime.

That is all.

Guys seriously we aren't a playoff team lol not even close. We don't have enough talent to be right now. QB situation is shaky. Injuries and a ? Secondary still. I'd be happy with 7 wins

Comment from the Rams forum.. Seems like they are more optimistic about the Redskins than a few of you guys..
They don't realize Andre Roberts has hands like Jason Pierre Paul.

There are no superior teams in the NFL. Any and every team can be beaten. We can win this game if we execute our schemes and remain discipline. The reason why we loss this week didn't have anything to do with talent. It was a matter of poor play calling, poor execution, and lack of discipline. To win this game the coaches have to be more aggressive. If they coach scared how can we expect our team to every progress? When coaches are being aggressive and trusting our players they have to execute. This team has the talent to beat the Rams. We just have to go out there and do it.

About 5 of those calls were absolute BS. Better refereeing will take care of some of their penalty problems.
