I hope they keep Jay. My two cents after sleeping on it.

I believe continuity is underrated in the NFL.

I believe someone on one of these threads said that doing nothing just for the sake of not making a drastic change was also not an acceptable solution either.

I'm on the fence with Jay myself. I have said it before but I think he is like our version of Jeff Fisher. You aren't going to be abysmal, but you are never going to set the league on fire and go 12-4 or something like that. I think he is a career 7-9 / 8-8 kind of guy who once in a while will put a lucky streak together and maybe go 10-6, but with no type of consistency.

what happened to Anderson?

Loafing on the punt return for a TD last night?

We need a well-qualified, capable GM who has full authority over all football operations personnel. Only that person should evaluate Jay Gruden and make any decisions about Jay's future here. Until that happens, there is nothing to be gained by firing Jay. So I vote no.

Well that person is Doug Williams and he is qualified. Whether he has the power to do things his way is another story.

Everyone keeps saying, "If you keep Jay, you'll continue mediocrity."

Kind of like elite QBs, there aren't many elite coaches out there either. Obviously it's all a package deal. Could Gruden go into Philly right now and do what they're doing? I would like to think so. As I said in another thread, could Belichek come down here and fix us? Probably not. It's a mixture of talent, coaching and intangibles, and it's rare when you can just fire a coach, get another, and suddenly be amazing.
