FrenchSkin 03-25-2019, 09:28 AM I'm not falling for anything with Keenum. He is what he is, a journeyman QB who can play well if you have a loaded team around him. Without strong support he's JAG, basically a Rex Grossman type and we've seen how that goes.Oh I definitely agree.
I'm just pointing out that even know, while it seems this offseason could very well turn out to be a terrible one if some crucial moves aren't made (#whytheFhasn'tScherffbeenextendedyet?) , part of me can already see how I could, and probably will, spin the narrative so, as the season moves closer, I'll sincerely start thinking we have a shot at not being that terrible.

KI Skins Fan 03-25-2019, 09:46 AM My plan is Keenum and a rookie who is drafted no higher than the second round, unless he happens to be the best player - not just the best QB - available at #15. That's a good enough plan for now, as they will be playing for a lame duck coach.
I'm beginning to think that Alex is definitely done and that Colt may also be done with the NFL because of their injuries.
We need a long term plan to land the Alabama kid as our future QB in the 2020 draft more than we need to trade away assets in order to reach for a QB in this draft.
skinsfaninok 03-25-2019, 09:48 AM Keenum is 31 Years old, he is who he is. In Minnesota his career year with A Loaded offense he only managed 22 TDs. Last years Case is about what u get. 18 Tds - 15 Ints.
If he is QB1 going into this season, we better hope Guice and AD run wild.

The problem is, Keenum can manage 6 wins. Tua is going to be a top 5 pick, maybe the #1 pick. Tanking for QB's is hard to do, unless you go Cleveland Browns style and make sure you get that guy.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but how loaded was the Vikings offense, aside from having Diggs and Thielin that year? Because Dalvin Cook got hurt in game 4 that year and going into the season, Thielin was just a WR and he broke out that season.
I feel the Vikings and Keenum's success had more to do with the Vikes' defense being elite, rather than having a "loaded offense."
Granted, that we probably don't have two good WRs in our team, but perhaps with a good defense and running game, Keenum can recreate some of his magic from 2017.

Rudolph at TE, Murray at RB1.
They had plenty of talent for today's NFL.
We don't have 1 guy anywhere close to Diggs or Thielen
skinsfan69 03-25-2019, 12:47 PM Draft a rookie and start him day one. Period.
Daseal 03-25-2019, 01:26 PM We're going to go with Keenum or Rosen. If we draft a rookie it means Jay has been given some sort of assurances he'll be given time with a rookie, and that's my worst case scenario. Lame duck coaches don't want rookie QBs.

Rosen makes the most sense, his style fits Jays offense more than Haskins, Grier , etc.
REDSKINS4ever 03-25-2019, 08:05 PM It's clear as crystal that the Redskins must draft more than one QB.....I see no QB worthy of a 1st rd pick except Murray and maybe Haskins...a QB can be taken in the 2nd or 3rd round and another QB can be added later in the draft....Colt McCoy will be ready for the season but once in 2014 and again in 2018 he's shown that he gets injured when he's given the keys to the offense...and to hell with Josh Johnson....if they make Johnsin a 3rd QB so be it....if Colt McCoy played for New England or Pittsburgh he would have been traded by now....our front office has a competence problem of being unable to let go of players that are average....such as Colt McCoy and Rob Kelley.
But I have no problem with Case Keenum starting.
