we all love terry

the only issue with terry is his age and you got be careful not to strap yourself financial to a guy who most likely is on the down slope

it sucks

The one thing to point out, Terry himself has said he hasn't got the mileage or injury history to date many of his peers of a similar age have had. He could well go 6, 7 or even 8 more years. Signing him to a 3 or 4 year deal now is lower risk than, say, Metcalf's extension.

The question I ask is do they have irons in the fire on other signings and that' causing them pause? Are they still looking at Hendrickson and want to know what that outcome could be before committing to Terry? Committing to Terry and Hendrickson might leave them light for extending Daniels as well as putting weapons around him.

To all the people on this board who say this isn't a big deal and will get done please read the following:

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/terry-mclaurin-landing-spots-potential-trade-suitors-as-wr-frustrated-with-commanders-amid-contract-dispute/

"A month after skipping the Commanders' mandatory minicamp, McLaurin also indicated he's prepared to extend his holdout, suggesting that "without any progressive discussions" related to a new deal, "it's kind of hard to see how I step on the field" for Washington."

My biggest concern in this is far off on the numbers they are. Like 18 million annually. If Terry gets greedy or Peters balks at his demands this may not get done. Frustrating.

I cannot imagine that they're off by $18M/yr, if that's what your note indicates. Most estimate that he's looking for ~$30M, and if we're only offering $12M, he should tell us to suck it. In fact, that number would be so insultingly low, it's hard to imagine we can get things on track. But I cannot imagine that's where the parties are here.

the above part of this - i do not see him as a typical 30 yr old wr - im not sure who does - when comes to mileage and injury history. The way he takes care of himself and works? Nah man, i cant see a down slope. Father time might be undefeated but Terry is good competition IMO

Can’t say I’m excited about this. He didn’t show much last year. Clowney’s numbers were better and he’s a better run stopper too.

But what do I know. I trust AP’s judgment far more than my own.

This is the worst case scenario if he gets too greedy. Agree doubtful it does but a pushy agent can be highly influential. Just get it done. Will be interesting and highly monitored how this unfolds.

I doubt Terry is demanding $40M. I’d be stunned.

I'm ambivalent on the Miller signing. This seems similar to the Lattimore trade, but in this case he's gotten the down year out of his system and hopefully comes back strong this year. I guess its relatively low risk as an FA signing.

I also think this means AP turns his attention to Terry and gets that deal done.
