Because Shockey is probably going to play at a high level for several more years. He's got a Pro Bowl QB throwing to him and his former O-coordinator who is knows him and knows his game. With the emegence of Boss, NY didn't really need him. Plus NY has Toomer, Plax, Steve Smith, Moss' little brother and they just drafted Mario M. They are pretty solid on offense.

Taylor could potentially play one more year and then go off and and try and make movies...or try and be Mr. Twinkle Toes again. I would bet that if we win 5-7 games he could walk. If that happens then we're right back to square one minus the draft pick, which could be a high 2nd rounder.

I'm going to say this one more time. Sometimes guys get hurt and you don't know what you have in the back-up until he gets in the game and shows what he can do. The Giants saw what Boss can do, he's had a great off season so they let Shockey go. But not before they got some value in return.
