Re: Let's talk about the onsides kick today
The 2pt call also showed confidence in JC specifically. After three fumbles under pressure last week and the risk of getting picked (in which either scenario could lead to a Jets run back TD) they put the ball in Campbell's hands.
The ultra-conservative, sometimes suspect playcalling in other games would have been more toward settling for the extra pt. and putting it on the defense to keep NY out of field goal range. It was a good call and a good play. |

had they gone for one, i think gibbs would have been fired for senility... one does you no good, you may as well come out and take a knee. your d is going to try to stop them either way, but if you get one, and they kick a field goal they win... if you get none and they kick a field goal they win... you're realy not helping yourself with the extra point at all.. get the "point" ![]()

As for picks and fumbles--that could happen on any play. By your logic, JC shouldn't have touched the ball today. Either he can play, and you run your offense, or you bench him. But once the decision is made to play him, in that situation, you go for 2--every time.
