Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
I was a supporter of AH until today. This dude is a Lying, ugly, poor exscuse for a human being. I hope the Redskins don't trade him and let his ass sit all year, then if he still feels the same way sit out until the contract is up.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Well, I hate to agree with this post.... and I'm definitely in no way, shape or form defending Hayensworth, because he can go jump in a lake as far as I'm concerned right now.... but I think there is something to this point as well. One of the things that has really bothered me about the Skins' over the last decade or so, is our inability to adapt to the players that we have. Now, I totally understand that Shanny and Haslett didn't really get to choose these players, so I'm not blaming them either...but when I look at the players we have defensively, I think we'd have a heck of a team playing a 4-3, and I think we have many more question marks with a 3-4. I really hope to see the Redskins over the next couple years, taking advantage of some of the players they have and designing plays and schemes to their strengths. I mean that overall both offensively and defensively, not specifically just looking at fat Albert.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
And for all the people who said him missing voluntary workouts was no big deal.... This guy is a gigantic pile of shit. And he got $32M from us for playing in 12 games. This is irreconcileable at this point. Even if he is a Redskin this year, he'll be a fat, lazy, half-assed player. By that I mean he'll be himself.
And what really sucks is we're not gonna get any value for him.

If anything, we have two enabling parties in what is now actually a story:
Complete dick move by the Haynesworth camp, but the timing of the decision leads me to believe that level heads will, at some point, prevail. The above is why you have his teammates going off on him now, and not before when he wasn't doing anything wrong, despite reports.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
From PFT:
Redskins teammates begin to tee off on Haynesworth Posted by Mike Florio on June 15, 2010 10:57 PM ET Though they've yet to go on the record, at least two of Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth's teammates have begun the process of making their feelings known regarding Haynesworth's decision not to show up for a mandatory minicamp, which comes on the heels of an offseason of decisions by Haynesworth not to show up for work. As one player told Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan in D.C., "[Haynesworth] loves money and not football. He is a great actor. Actors get paid a lot of money." Another teammate was more concise, simply calling Haynesworth an "asshole." We suspect that it'll only get more interesting once the players show up for the minicamp that opens tomorrow.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
To be clear: Haynesworth should be getting ripped for choosing to blatantly violate a good faith contract tomorrow. Nothing good is going to come of his absence. It's just that, with all the bandwidth and paper that has been wasted on Haynesworth prior to this move, the story is going to die nationally pretty quickly, and Haynesworth is going to be pretty numb to justified criticism.
Which essentially means that he's done as a Redskin, if not before this year, then after.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
While I have zero respect for AH as a person, my intuition is in the long run he "wins" this feud, because as a player (in the right situation) his dominance cannot be denied.
Basically Albert will sit across from some FO group w/ a team really looking to win, and he'll convince them he is committed to being the best 4-3 DT in football for several more years. He'll get another huge contract. Period. Here's why the Redskins lose. First, we won't get shit for Albert now. He knows this. His agent knows this. They also know he's still gonna get paid (as above). Second, we lost our best defensive player, and behind him it's just a whole series of big fat ?s, starting w/ our coaching staff and working all the way down the defensive roster. Shanny has made some awful coaching/personnel decisions, and they seem to be heavy on the defensive side. Haslett has never coached a dominant defense. More importantly it doesn't look like he's ever improved a unit. And in the end, we're still a completely untested 3-4 defense. Our secondary situation is shaky and now our DL situation is shaky because our one true 3-4 NT is coming off one of the worst possible injuries in football. Fail.

Totally Agree, this is all Haynesworths fault, but I absolutely HATED the idea of making this switch. LONG before I ever wondered whether our current defensive personnel would be ok with the switch. We didnt have the LBs. STILL dont have the LBs. Our defense just needed to be TWEAKED. Throw away the 20 yard cushion our DBs were giving up, be more agressive, disquise the blitzes better, add some LBs, and we were straight. Andre Carter was coming off a very good season, now we throw him back at LB. Like him or not, AH was a beast for us, from the very first snap I saw him play with us, our D-line was INSTANTLY better. Anyone remember how our D/L was before AH? Yeah, it f-ckin sucked. Naw, we gotta come in and give the dam defense a complete face lift, knowing that this year we needed to focus on our God awful offense. Hasletts on my shit list, this defense better be dam good. Gonna be hard with Haynesworth out of the mix. |

I don't think that AH would've ever come here had he known how we'd use him even last year.

Hilarious comment from the PFT article:
"They should take Albert Haynesworth and plug him into the hole spewing oil down in the gulf." LOL. That would solve a few problems in Washington. Get him off the Redskins, and take some heat off of Obama and Co.

Don't know how to link to it, but the Skins blog cartoon this week showed a AH half covered in oil, and the punchline, AH said "See I told you I don't like plugging holes"
