Wah.. His Agent complains..

This is football, and Shanahan is looking for people who practice hard, and play harder. Fatty Al, and Mcnabb were doing neither.

The reason why it seems that Shanahan "handled" it poorly is because the media stretches everything way out there. Shanny has said it doesn't matter if you are making 1 million or 1 dollar. The best players will play, and those who give the msot effort.

I applaud Shanny for what he's done so far. I'm excited for the future. No longer will we have overpaid veterans who consider a practice to be 30 minutes on the bike, or 15 minutes in the ice tub.

The Donovan McNabb deal has not worked out for anyone.
Everyone looks bad.
McNabb looks bad, Mike Shanahan looks bad but Kyle Shanahan comes out looking the worst.
I'm ready to move on to our next QB.

The thought on Haynesworth was he waited to long but as for McNabb he blew it .

A players agent would never put out a statement before aproval from his client. This staement was approved through Mcnabb and this is how he feels. Well this is football and no coach or player is owed anything accept your game check. How many times has a player given back his game check for playing poorly. I bet never. Shanny is the HC and he is responsible for this team and how they proform. McNabb started 13 games but we have only won 5 games and the Tampa Bay game we should have ran them out of FedEx after running for 150 yards in the 1st half but could not get in the end zone. A QB is judge on wins and loses in the NFL and with our terrible defense we have no room for error on offense. We need to know who are starter is going to be next season and if he is even on the 2010 roster. I support Shanny and McNabb can sit and collect his check while most americans dont even have a job. You get played a kings ransom to play a game stop bitching and moaning about being disrepected when you make millions of dollars.

A guy wears a DM jersey but now he says he wanted to keep JC........come on man.You people are all Vinnies you want WRs & QBs while the OL suffers.

The only winner in this deal is the Eagles, it underscores why they're atop the division and their future looks upward. They get two draft picks [of ours] to further boost an already existing division leader, we get more drama.

You're mixed up on the Vinny methodology which says draft receivers and defensive players early and no lineman in the later rounds. People here want to draft O-Lineman we just don't want to use every first round pick for the next 3 or 4 years trying to put together this pipe dream super line while ignoring the other areas of our team. Particularly the most important position in the game as well as the front 7 of our new and improved 3-4 defense.

Also keep in mind we have not ignored the lines. Just this past offseason we used a top 5 pick and two 7th round picks on prospects. We then traded a 3rd round pick for a 1st round talent, which leaves us with first round bookends. We also brought in a former 4th round pick of Shanahan's that is currently starting in his 3rd year. In all we added 6 new players to our team and that was in one offseason, but apparently if someone doesn't want to dedicate every first round pick for the next decade to the offensive line they get labeled a Vinny.

Two? I thought they only get our fourth and the Saints (I think it was the Saints) get our third?

By two, I mean two draft picks surrendered in the trade for McNabb, a 2nd rp in 2010 and a conditional pick in the upcoming draft.

Mike Shanahan responds to Fletcher Smith | ProFootballTalk

I was surprised there wasn't a thread on this yet.

I get what Fletcher Smith is doing. And I hear what Shanahan is saying. McNabb has said all the right things, but his agent works for him. If he didn't want Smith saying those things about KS and MS, Smith wouldn't have.

The Shanahans have blundered seriously this year. My way or the highway is okay to an extent, but you have to blend that kind of style with deft management of personalities (see New England. Same attitude, no leaks, no malcontents). And in that department, we have failed. They've acted like stubborn jerks at times this year, with ego prevailing.

I was hoping the Skins were finally being run by adults. I'm still not so sure. The dysfunction this year seems just as bad or worse as in year's past.
F^%k McNabb and F^%K Mgr Smith. We had heard over and over again how McNabb would not listen to the coaches about speeding things up and playing with a tempo. Maybe that explains why McNabb has been tripped up so many time under center. He has played like shit and I have seen enough balls bouncing in the dirt. So tell McNabb and his agent to go F%$K them self for a merry christmas.

So From all of Washington to McNabb and Smith.

On a side note does anyone think that McNabb might be gay. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay.

Perhaps DM5 just was not in condition for short passes and screens?

Or because he seems to bounce those balls to the WRs.

I don't care what Shanny did over a decade ago in Denver. Right now, Andy Reid > Mike Shanahan.

Philly fans are laughing out loud at us right now. There's a reason Reid didn't bat an eye at shipping McNabb to a division rival.

Merry Xmas, Redskins fans!

While I agree Reid is a good coach he also got lucky. Even he didn't know that MV was going to do a 100% turn around from last year. If he did MV would have been named the starting QB from day one. I don't think he got rid of McNabb because he was washed up I think he wanted to develop his young QB and move toward the future. Then MV threw him for a loop and he had to change his mind.

If it was Jason Campbell playing like this everyone would be screaming for Rex to start. Just because everyone is supposed to think McNabb is great and treat him with cotton candy care doesn't mean that in reality he didn't have plenty of oppurtunity to not get benched. F off #5, play better. YOU didn't get disrespected, YOU played worse than the guy that everyone was screaming to get rid of before the season.
