When I was younger, probably 18-23, I could be a major prick when it came to women. I was the king of ending relationships on very sour notes. I would get bored very quickly with girls, and when I decided I didn't want to see a girl again I would just pretend she didn't exist anymore. Out of the blue I would stop returning calls, and basically I would just completely ignore her and give no reason why.

Dude, this was totally me back in college too... Girls, in general, always want some type of closure- whether it be a final conversation or a fit of rage.

Suppose the guy wants closure, and the girl doesn't really give it to him? And furthermore, how do you know you've really gotten closure?

In my man slut days, the only closure I required was a "happy ending".

Should be an interesting thread.

With one girl in particular I guess she took it pretty hard, because about a year later I got a letter from her saying she was about to get married but she couldn't stop thinking about me, and she couldn't understand why I left things the way I did. She just wanted me to call her and get some closure I guess. So I ripped up the letter and didn't call, I kinda feel bad about that now.

Basically I was immature and selfish, I can see that pretty clearly now. Oh well, that's what growing up is all about, right?

There are plenty of men that don't grow up.. even in there 40s. I had a boyfriend hit on my best friend in a bar, knowing she was with her boyfriend, so she would get mad, tell me about it, and then I would dump him.... unreal.

Tricky question... if the "other" doesn't want to give closure, then i guess the person is screwed. And closure is probably different for everyone- the chicks i knew varied... some just wanted to get a last word in, some just wanted to make sure i knew how "terrible" i was as a person... the cool ones just want to make sure it wasn't an action or something weird that ended it.

When i need closure myself, it's more a "finality" thing to move on quicker. I'm not so sure what closure is for you, but you're probably there when you yourself are ready to trust the next gal (which means getting past all the insecurities and such from the previous relationship).
