Do you think that they O-Line will be ready to start against the GMen and win? I'm more than confident about about the D. Even the special teams will be better with Hunter. I'm not hating on the O-Line, but as of right now I don't think they're a "Championship Level" squad.

I was alluding to the fact that all throughout the offseason, some people here were talking as though last year's problems were solely Campbell's fault and there wasn't much said about the offensive line.

The offensive line has a lot to prove, and these minor injuries are likely to cause concern. I do think we have a better (and younger) line than last year's, and I think going up against the monster of a defense we have should help them. I think some people are overreacting a bit about the offensive line; however I wouldn't be opposed to the team getting a veteran tackle for thee right side (Jones...maybe Runyan).

If we get Runyan we'll need to get some aerosol smell-good too.

Ok, try this:

Trade Golston or Monty, plus Doughty, to Jax for Tony Pashos.

I'm fine with it, but I'd rather just pick up any of the free agents out there. I do really hope we get a tackle with experience. I feel like the FO feels like they have to stick by what they said to not bring new guys in, but just suck it up and do what everybody knows is what's best for the team. Bring in one guy and everybody is gonna be happy.

Things could be worse. The Iggles line sounds like it's falling apart. There's a good article by Larry Weisman on The Redskins Official Site about the problems the Iggles are having.

With Heyer healthy the O-Line was looking bad. How's it going to be if a couple of key guys get hurt? The D-Line is tearing them up anyway.

I believe Haynesworth is likely making the offensive line look worse than it will be against most of our opponents, but I hear you.

Two consecutive years now, Heyer's been an above average RT. I think we forget that because last year he was so ungodly disasterous on the left side, that we judged his abilities early. But the biggest problem is that he just looked like a RT on the left side. His footwork was terrible. He's never had that problem on the right side.

Of course, the interior line is the cause of concern. There's Thomas, and who knows what we can get out of him the rest of his career. There's Rabach, and we know perfectly well what we're getting out of him the rest of his career. And Dockery, well, the last time he was here, Rabach and Thomas were quality offensive lineman. He's still the best out of the three, but best case scenario, we get our money's worth when he does an adequate job filling into Pete Kendall's shoes.

Outside of a nice half season from Fabini in 2007, and a good game or two from Mike Pucillo and Rabach here and there, the last time we had a decent C or RG was 2006. Tackle might be the least of the lines concerns, especially since Samuels seems to be back in top form.

Agreed, it was a very good article. Here's the link...

I'm sure some Debbie Downer will say that this is the Redskins website, blah blah blah, but Weisman makes some good points.

Why, then, was Heyer unable to reclaim his starting role at RT from Jansen?

That's a good question, but I personally would have kept Heyer in there and I think Jansens play proves my point.

Yeah I appreciated the perspective. Very interesting how much positive news Rinehart is getting. Buges has always been rather sparing in his compliments unless it's a surly veteran at issue...sounds like he's impressed w/ the kid's improvement over last year.

Thinking about Buges role in all this makes me wonder how much the awful tragedy he endured last year impacted his group. I was a bit surprised when he decided to ride through another season...there's little doubt in my mind he wants to take his guys to the next level and reestablish the o-line as a team strength rather than a weakness.
