skinsfan_nn 08-05-2009, 10:29 PM Things could be worse. The Iggles line sounds like it's falling apart. There's a good article by Larry Weisman on The Redskins Official Site about the problems the Iggles are having.
Sure they could always be worse, flip the coin they could and should be much better. It would be foolish to think this front five will and/or does not have areas of real concern. Even this early on.
I wish I had a little more faith in this aging O-line and the depth we have, but I don't. I would hope the Skins at least address the RT position for the short term now and sign a FA, starter quality Tackle.
Could care less about the eagles. I'm not a fan, hope they fall apart.
My only focus is what is going on with the Skins.
The Goat 08-05-2009, 10:30 PM Two consecutive years now, Heyer's been an above average RT. I think we forget that because last year he was so ungodly disasterous on the left side, that we judged his abilities early. But the biggest problem is that he just looked like a RT on the left side. His footwork was terrible. He's never had that problem on the right side.
Of course, the interior line is the cause of concern. There's Thomas, and who knows what we can get out of him the rest of his career. There's Rabach, and we know perfectly well what we're getting out of him the rest of his career. And Dockery, well, the last time he was here, Rabach and Thomas were quality offensive lineman. He's still the best out of the three, but best case scenario, we get our money's worth when he does an adequate job filling into Pete Kendall's shoes.
Outside of a nice half season from Fabini in 2007, and a good game or two from Mike Pucillo and Rabach here and there, the last time we had a decent C or RG was 2006. Tackle might be the least of the lines concerns, especially since Samuels seems to be back in top form.
Well there again GT doesn't it count for something how much positive news we're hearing about Rinehart, the fact we've got a seasoned vet in Bridges (probably a better RG than RT) and a guy who adds about 30 more pounds to the line in big Dock (over Pete)? There's not much defense for Rabach, but what I'm saying is it seems almost certain he'll be sandwiched between better guards than we had last year.

I would definitely like to see improvement, but the point is, these are minor injuries we're going through.
coggs 08-05-2009, 10:42 PM I believe Haynesworth is likely making the offensive line look worse than it will be against most of our opponents, but I hear you.
Then I can only imagine how bad the Giants D Line will make them look at the opener. Tuck, Osi, Kiwanuka, Cofield, Robbins, Canty, must have woodies thinking about tee-ing off on Campbell. Even this rookie pass rush specialist OLB, Clint Sintim is probably aroused.

Leave it to a Gnats fan to talk about woodies and men getting aroused.

This is no slam on your line, it's damn good, but any one of those guys is not AH, and as for Sintim, he's just happy to be invited to the big boy party. The surprise this time might be more for Eli, when AH, Carter, Daniels and Orakpo greet Eli the first time. One hundred million dollar qb vs one hundred million dollar dt, lets see how the day goes HEH HEH HEH.

You were the kid who even after you got burned kept touching the stove, weren't you? How many times have the Skins brought in these big name FA's only to disappoint? Tuck and Umenyiora are both among the top 5 D-linemen in the league. Not expecting much from Sintim, but the Giants will find a way to work him in and be productive. Not saying he is going to be ROY or even an every down player, but he'll contribute.
Secondly, the Giants have the best OLine coach in the game. He'll have a plan to contain Haynesworth if porkchops is at 100%. Good luck containing the Giants D Line.

You are in fantasy land. Strahan and Burress are gone and so is any chance of you guys winning a Super Bowl this year.
