Just because you say it coggs, doesn't make it so. He won a SB with a team that had a fantastic defense at the time. If that is what you are basing all this on....please. I guess that makes him better than Drew Brees and a whole lot of other QB's. OK, you say he didn't win it but he played well enough. Well IMO Campbell would have played well enough with that team to get a win also. Basically Trent Dilfer showed it could be done with a great defense and a so-so QB. Eli is not so much superior to JC as you would have everyone believe. You have a right to your opinion but you think your opinion is the holy truth and everyone elses opinion is wrong. Did you pick the Giants to win the SB last year? Probably, dynasty remember? Did you pick Arizona to go to the SB before the season even started? I doubt it. But you come on a Redskin site and say we're not even in the running. It's a 3 team race and we're not included. I'd say you're the one who's not too bright partner. Have fun in the "Honors" forum, like you'd have a snowballs chance in hell of getting in.

You make some good points here 53fan, but one thing you have to admit is that Eli's ON switch got turned on in the playoffs. In the regular season of that year he threw 23 TD's and 20 Int's. In the four playoff games he was in, he threw 10 TD's and only 2 Int's. Yes he had a fantastic defense, and a great running game, along with a tall physical WR, and a dependable WR. But when it mattered the most, he performed like a pro. And until Jason wins a ring, I'm still going to put/take any QB with a ring, over Jason.

Great. How'd he do last year? I wish JC could say the same thing in regards to the bold print. Kinda important don't you think? Maybe he'll have that this year. We'll see. If JC was fortunate enough to throw 20 INT's and still make the playoffs, maybe his light would be turned on too. Unfortunately, to this point he hasn't been on a team good enough to overcome that sort of QB play. Eli has.

I simply stated what is known to everyone but the people on this site, that Eli was better than Jason Campbell.

coggs eli is better cause he played his best ball when it mattered most. i'll give him that. but it will be very interesting to see how he performs with the wr's he has this year. no plax, toomer or shockey. is he going to be good enough to carry the offense with some unproven, average to below average wr's? i personally don't think so. he's just not that type of qb. i think your passing game is going to really struggle. the defense is going to have to carry you guys imo.

He has decided to ignore that argument completely. He has also never acknowledged that Philly kicked the shit out of the Giants in their backyard. Typical New Yorker... They are all mad that we are in the Most Powerful City in the World and that we tell them how things work.

Back to the whole topic of Heyer's injury, which appears to not be serious, for those who want Runyan

Injuries plague Eagles' Andrews brothers | Philadelphia Inquirer | 08/07/2009 (http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20090807_Injuries_plague_Eagles__Andrews_brothers. html)

Asked if the team was considering other options such as bringing in tackle Jon Runyan, the source said that was not likely considering the former Eagle's health.

Earlier this week, Runyan told WIP-AM (610) that his surgeon, James Andrews, has not permitted him to run on his reconstructed right knee. Runyan said he has an appointment with the surgeon soon, and if cleared, he will begin rehabilitation in the hopes of returning to an NFL team. Runyan, 35, said that he has been contacted by several teams, but that the Eagles remain his first choice.

I think the Redskins will end up bringing in a couple of guy to shore up their O-line. Otherwise they won't make it through the season.

bringing in a 35 year old with a bad knee is not the way to go. but he's probably better than any of the guys we currently have as back ups.

our next draft had better be all o-linemen. this is going to be a real problem this year.

I mentioned in the Joel Segal (agent for several skins) thread that maybe he was visiting Vinny to talk about an O lineman client. Heyer seems a bit injury prone & even if healthy I'm not sure he could start on many teams.

If things look bad late in camp they'll at least look into making a move.

yeah, I would think the over/under on o linemen in our next draft would be 5.
