In 2004 those names meant something. they replaced their whole offensive line. If you are advocating getting players on the cheap, you typically get what you pay for... cheap play. I don't think that is what shanny an allen look to do, friday will show us all the truth.

Okay so now our RB conversation is Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Quinton Ganther, Rock Cartwright, Marcus Mason, Anthony Alridge, and PJ Hill with the addition of possibly via Free Agency Peyton Hillis, Mike Bell, Tatum Bell, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Darren Sproles on top of possibly drafting, Jahvid Best, CJ Spiller, Montario Hardesty, or Ben Tate.

.......I think the offseason has officially gotten on my nerves.....

Can't wait for Redskins 1st workouts on March 15 to hear the Shanahan's talk about guys like Brennan and Alridge so we can gauge what direction we may be goin in.
welcome to possibilities and evaluations, it's nothing new

Skins' interest in Sproles is pretty genuine. Though I have a feeling Sproles is planning to use the Redskins to get what he really wants. A big contract from the Chargers.

Not sure Sproles is aware that he'll be dealing with Bruce Allen.

especially considering that the news is bigger there than here on the interest of us

agent + local media = there you have it

You mean you can't wait to hear some football talk based in reality? I hear ya there.

Whoever's ready for real news at that point will be sorely disappointed, but you know that.

We sound silly? Really?

Of course we will be in play for some free agents, some being the key word.
lol yeah not sure why that was directed at anyone

Redskins Insider - Redskins explore their nose-tackle options in draft (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/mike-shanahan/redskins-explore-their-nose-ta.html#more)

as discussed in the RI report above, anyone think we will go after one of the NT studs in the draft? Dan Williams out of Tennessee, Alabama's Terrence Cody and North Carolina's Cam Thomas are the three mentioned. i assume that we would have to use our second round pick to get one of them.

^ In 2004 Tampa let go of vets Sapp, Lynch, and Keshawn Johnson. They brought in 19 free agents including Brian Griese, Charlie Garner, Joey Galloway, Matt O’dwyer, Matt Stichcomb, Jason Widdle, Derrick Deese, Todd Steussie, Darrell Russell, Ian Gold, Mario Edwards, and Josh Bidwell to punt. Don't believe the Hype Matty different faces, same game!

Not sure I really see your point at all.

He came in and cut ties with a lot of high priced vets, and brought in a bunch of no-names basically. I don't really see how this is any sort of spending spree. Any idea what they paid for these guys? I don't see anyone that would have commanded a huge deal, certainly not like what we've seen the Skins dish out.

Redskins gave Kedric Golston the 2nd round tender, according to Jason Reid

no one wanted him last year. i'm sure no one else will this year, especially with all the DT talent in the draft.
