mooby 05-06-2011, 12:56 AM Hey, we hear you. The mods are trying to get the best deal for you...but you know how Matty is (Mr. Ego)...<<totally should have hijacked the Lendy thread with this>>
But why would you want to hijack a serious thread about a guy that is crucial to the success of our team? Just another example of the misprioritizing of the threads by our so called "leaders."
mredskins 05-16-2011, 01:05 PM LA Noire, anyone get it? Any personal reviews of it?

Dirtbag59 05-16-2011, 08:08 PM LA Noire, anyone get it? Any personal reviews of it?
I just wish they had it set during the 80's or beyond. Personally I get mixed feelings on throwback games (20's-50's types). On one hand they're great because they just do such a great job of showing you what the time period looked like with color and you do get caught up in it sometimes, but usually after a while I get depressed for some reason. Maybe I feel sorry for these people since they have to live with cars that barely go over 40 mph and no home computers.
skinsfaninok 05-16-2011, 08:11 PM I find myself extremely fortunate that shortly before this outage occurred I stopped playing online due to lack of interest, and even more fortunate that I haven't really had the itch to play since then. Otherwise I would probably be going crazy.
In the time I've had my PS3 I have obviously spent nothing for online access. If I had a 360 it would have set me back $148. Thats getting close to 3 games. Not to mention an extra $100 for wi-fi. So if God forbid an outage should happen for a month or even two then so what. Better then having the price rise to include stuff I don't want like Facebook and any other apps the folks at Microsoft decide to add.
And when the hell is 360 going to get a browser? How does Microsoft make a system without an internet browser? My crappy 3 year old phone has an internet browser.
For the record I own both as well.
I hear really soon but I'm surprised they dont have one yet.
SolidSnake84 05-16-2011, 09:08 PM So PSN is still down? Unbelievable.
From what i understand, there is nothing they can do to defend against the hackers. This is why Japan would not relaunch the PSN even when they were told that the network was OK, Japan knew better.
Anyways, talking to my father in law about it, who is a network engineer, he explained it as basically the hackers are one step ahead of Sony, that they know everything they are gonna do before they do it, and he suspects that there may be a mole within Sony's infrastructure who is reporting to the hacking group, mainly assumed to be a large group known as "Anonymous".
Sony has asked the U.S. Government for help regarding this issue, and I certainly hope that there is someone within the Govt's cyber crime division or whatever, that can catch whoever the hackers are. But I'm not so sure.
Basically say goodbye to PSN after this, i dont see it ever being the same as we know it...
Dirtbag59 05-16-2011, 09:12 PM PSN is back up. With free stuff to. Kind of wish I had a bigger hard drive.
PSN Appreciation Program perks detailed, News from GamePro (http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/219440/psn-appreciation-program-perks-detailed/)
Still my main fear is that Sony uses this as an excuse to charge for online play. Being an XBox owner I can tell you that the price increases continue to get old, especially when they're justified with features that I have no interest in (Facebook for example).

So during that time, we've definitely got to fund it, and we want to add more and more and more. ESPN is a great example. No extra charge for Xbox Live Gold members. But we want to continue to bring that content in. We also want to continue to innovate on all dimensions, whether it's social, entertainment, or gaming. So there you go.
Seriously. Why do I need ESPN on my X-Box in the first place? I have cable and internet access which are much easier to use and navigate. It would be great if they added it for free but it's more along the lines of charging me stuff I don't need.
Basically the price increase also gets you exclusive DLC games (which you have to pay for), Zune, Twitter, Facebook, and ESPN among others.

Glad to see the system is workign again but i have my doubts. I also am going to be using prepaid game cards of some nature for PSN from here on out, because I was lucky that I had no information stolen, or any charges to my account, etc....
