CrazyCanuck 10-26-2011, 12:40 PM Grand Theft Auto V Will Be Set in Los Angeles, May Star Multiple Characters (http://kotaku.com/5853279/) Thanks for the link. Interesting... I wonder if they'll just slap GTA into the 1940s LA they used in LA Noire. Wouldn't be terrible, the world was pretty nice and very detailed. mooby 10-26-2011, 12:47 PM Ya either Miami or LA would be great. San Andreas is prob my favorite game ever, but that game was HUGE. Anyone who finished San Andreas to 100% (like me) deserves a congressional medal of honor or something. I got it to 100% as well, took me forever though. The hidden packages were the worst part, as well as getting all the vehicles training completion BS. Especially with the cars. And I hope they keep it modern with 5. I liked having the technological advances in 4 like the cell phone, and the ability to call that number that tells you what song is playing. I didn't like your friends calling you up every 10 minutes to go hang out though, that got annoying. Other than the main storyline missions, I hope they put side things in there to make the game more interesting. Maybe customize your character a bit more, maybe go gambling, or do other fun activities. It felt useless having all that money in 4 with nothing to do with it. I would expect things will settle down over the next few days. When I've actually been able to play... the game is definitely impressive. GTA IV was a lot more polished than San Andreas... and easier. I feel it was built for a broader audience, not maniacs like me (us) who were willing to spend like 10 real hours just to finish the goddamn Chilead Challenge. :) But I still love all the side stuff even if some of it can drive you nuts. That's part of the GTA experience, wouldn't be the same if you didn't launch your controller across the room a couple times. I can't remember any truly painful missions in GTA IV but I can still vividly remember a few from previous games: Vice City - Firetruck Level 12 San Andreas - Chilead Challenge - Ammunation Challenge - Vigilante Level 12 - The whole world used the tank for this but not me, I did it on a motorcycle. Hardest thing I ever accomplished in a video game. Anyways I hope they don't change too much for GTA V, if it ain't broke... mooby 10-26-2011, 07:47 PM GTA IV was a lot more polished than San Andreas... and easier. Hardest thing I ever accomplished in a video game. Anyways I hope they don't change too much for GTA V, if it ain't broke... I loved the fact that they had so many different activities to do in San Andreas. I used to drive massive vehicles up to the top of Mount Chiliad and launch them off the ramp at the top, and either bail and use the 'chute or just watch as it tumbled down the side of the mountain. I loved flying planes and parachuting from them too, as well as getting a bunch of stars with the tank or the fighter jet, or crashing the jumbo jet into something fun. Base jumping was great as well, I loved going gambling in Venturas, and I made an assload of money at the racetracks gambling place in Los Santos. There was absolutely no shortage of fun stuff to do on the San Andreas map, you had so many unlimited choices there. GTA 4 just felt streamlined and more serious. If they do go back to LA for this one, I hope there is a bit of countryside included, to kind of bring that back a little bit. And maybe bring planes back to, although I don't think they'll be doing the multiple cities thing they did with SA. All in all though in between the news that there will be multiple choices for your character, I'm excited to see where it's headed and what they're going to do to differentiate. And I also enjoyed doing Vigilante, Firetruck, Ambulance, etc. missions too, so if they brought those back I'd be happy. Hell, if they made one of the playable characters a cop I'd enjoy that too. I just hope there's more things to do with your time than there was in 4, less "your buddy calls and wants a burger and will lose respect for you if you don't stop whatever you're doing to appease him", and more "openness with fun activities to do." skinsfanthru&thru 10-26-2011, 11:59 PM I'm done with the gta series, give me Saints Row 3 any day of the week. It's like gta used to be when before it became to realistic and boring. mredskins 10-27-2011, 08:40 AM I'm done with the gta series, give me Saints Row 3 any day of the week. It's like gta used to be when before it became to realistic and boring. I was trying to think of that name! Saints Row great game! I have only played the first one and it is great. hooskins 10-27-2011, 10:02 AM MW3 will be out in a few weeks. I am going to get that, just because the number of friends I have that play it. Outnumbers Madden and BF. |
