Yeah and he played in games he could've skipped just as easily. He could be pushing it harder than our guys are now, who knows.

"FAT" chance tryfuhl 04-08-2010, 04:56 PM Well I'm glad that you guys have such great inside sources. DIE-NASTY 04-08-2010, 09:47 PM you do realize that these are voluntary and that if the Skins management team looked like they were forcing AH to be there, they could be fined or have draft picks taken away right? AH has said he's not going to miss any mandatory ones. If you reread my post, I never said anything about attending the voluntary workouts. I just don't think a (professional) player that makes an obscene amount of money has the right to decline a request to play a position their coach wants them to play. It's not unreasonable for our best defensive lineman to play NT. They're not asking him to play safety or guard. They're asking him move down the line and knuckle up. It's not unreasonable at all. DIE-NASTY 04-08-2010, 09:50 PM So you're ok with our coaching staff having players play out of position? I thought that ended with Blache retiring. Playing Lorenzo Alexander at OLB is playing a player out of position. Playing AH at NT isn't. Who should play NT if not AH? Montgomery? The guy looks like he on skates when he plays. Golston? Who? Maybe I'm old school but I don't believe in pandering to over-paid athletes. Kemo if he ever gets healthy is an ideal NT (i forgot we'd signed him) but like you said, that's a big if. internetcareer 04-08-2010, 10:46 PM Playing Lorenzo Alexander at OLB is playing a player out of position. Question for you: does Montgomery look like he is on ICE skates or ROLLER skates. Cause that will make a difference in his play. He said he'd play wherever they put him, but of course he'll have a preference. CRedskinsRule 04-09-2010, 12:30 AM If you reread my post, I never said anything about attending the voluntary workouts. I did mis-understand your post, I thought you were saying if Shanahan says he wants everyone there, than AH ought to be at the voluntary workouts. To the other, if your employer tells you to do something you and you think you could do a different task better, are you saying you wouldn't try to discuss it with him. NFL players just have more spotlights, and AH has a ton more. Did AH ever not play a down where Blache told him to play? IF Haslett tells him to play NT, do you think he will simply not go out onto the field? If he's on the team he will do whatever football position is asked of him, will he be the happiest camper probably not, and if it's really out of his comfort zone then I imagine he won't be as good at it, or as motivated. This is no different than any other employee in a business. Shanahan/Haslett will either fit him into the scheme and get him to buy in, or he will be a good player who never lives up to his potential. But he's not going to just walk off the field and pout. |
