Fred Davis is arguably our best receiver.
I guess the question is, where does Fred Davis rank in the entire league? Top half? Top 10? Top 5? That's absurd to think he's not valued much to other teams but he means the world to "us".

My sources tell me that Manning really wants to work with FD and they are going to keep him. ;)

Diehard- I think the only thing that would turn teams off to FD is the drug deal. Other than that the kid is at least a top 10 TE in the league.

He presents the biggest match-up problems, wouldn't say he's our best receiver though. :)

Its pretty simple in terms of Fred Davis;
You sign him to a long term deal, but put a clause in there that if he smokes weed or gets caught with it, the Skins don't have to pay him out the rest of the contract and he's donezo.

He ranks below Graham, Gronkowski, Gates, Vernon Davis, Hernandez, Witten and Gonzalez. After that, it's up for full debate.

FD needs two things to be with this group:
1. A QB that's better than anything we had last year
2. Fight for the ball and take advantage of his size

the problem with your thinking is that if landry does have the surgery he will be out for a year, meaning he will miss next season. the longer and longer this drags on only means bad things for both dirty landry and the redskins. at this point i am just waiting to hear that he is released, and it f-ing sucks cause like you said it's just one more whole.
as far as fletch is concerned i am under thr impression that this front office is not chock full of ruhtards and will be an easy re-sign. from all accounts fletch loves it here and has proven his value. if he doesn't get a nice sized deal for about 3-4 years that would be a huge surprise to me, i see him retiring here.
Well I think we're in it now with Landry. He's not getting the surgery, so he better hope and pray his alt. therapy works. I just don't want to see him go when I know that when he's healthy he can make a good impact.

It's a given that if he's suspended, it'll be without pay so that doesn't need to be in the contract. Bonus money might be hard to be recouped though.(Vick allowed to keep his bonus money) That's why you don't give huge bonuses to guys with questionable character.
