Some more details (not in bold, :) )

Am being told Peyton will make $18 million in 2012. There is an injury waiver based on physical in 2013. More to come.

Not about the money huh?

I'd be curious to know what the Titans and 49ers were offering him.

Was the 18 supposed to be symbolic? Thank goodness he's not Wayne Gretzky

I'm just curious to know whether Manning actually came out and said that this is not about the money or if that is all speculation from the sports talking heads. Given the player of his caliber, even if he did say that I would find it hard to believe he wouldn't be given a big contract due to the market for him (didn't Miami come out guns blazing with $$ to get Manning?)

John Elway chose an old veteran over a young QB who led his team to the playoffs last season. One flaw in Tebow's game is his insane inaccuracy. Completing only 46% of his passes is extremely poor. But Tebow, while not a conventional quarterback, doesn't turn the ball over much. But Elway would rather have a QB who hasn't played since the 2010 playoffs. He choosing a QB who is coming off of three reportedly neck surgeries. He's choosing an aging QB. Peyton Manning is a huge risk. We'll just have to wait and see what Manning brings to this Denver team. I'm not a Tebow fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn't have thrown Tebow to the crocodiles in favor of Manning.

I definitely think going to a team that does not have the media frenzy attached to it like a Dallas, New York, or Washington is probably what won out for Peyton. Although, I can't see Tennessee being one of those "media frenzy" teams.

Sorry, but when I was stationed at fort Carson in colorado springs, I had broncos football shoved down my throat at all times. The media frenzy there I believe is stronger and the fan base more passionate than for even the Redskins. He will have pressure a plenty in Denver, write that down.

Just learned that #18 is retired by the Broncos.

Apparently, Frank Tripucka has said he would be willing to un-retire it for Manning.

He may end up wearing #16 again.

Manning has a better shot at the superbowl with the 49ers than the Broncos.

Umm the 49ers defense was one of the best ever this year. The Broncos was one of the most overrated. Their secondary and MLB got carved up by Brady worse than any other team I've seen this year. And their DL can't stop the run that well.
