After this weekend, I think it should go to Russel Wilson or Andrew Luck. RGIII had a abysmal day in terms of passing, and has been absent a full game while being knocked out of 2 others.

The fact this team is winning even in the absence of RGIII tells me that Alfred Morris should be in on the discussion of OROY. He's been the one constant this whole year.

This isn't meant to be any slight on RGIII.

I hope Griffin gets it, as he truly LED this team to its first division title in 13 years, but if I were voting, I think I would vote for Wilson.

if it were possible to give a co-ROY then I would say the RG3/Morris duo. When has any rookie QB/RB duo come anywhere near the impact of those two together??

Robert Griffin III sets two NFL rookie passing records (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/01/02/robert-griffin-iii-sets-two-nfl-rookie-passing-records/)

I feel like the people who vote for ROY, will not vote for Russell because they were wrong about him. Take Kiper and McShay for example, they say that they would just barely vote for Andrew Luck. But who was their top guy coming out of the draft...Andrew Luck. I feel like these analysts and writers don't want to be "wrong" and that their arrogance is getting in the way.

@ProFootballTalk: Per @mortreport, a rep for Russell Wilson has asked the Seahawks for a raise, even though CBA prevents it http://t.co/S7HBZOZV

Russell Wilson had a great year but it didn't end up in a SB victory. If he had taken Seattle that far then he would definitely get more money. But with only one playoff win I doubt if the Seahawks front office would be willing to give him a raise in pay.

Doesn't matter what he did this year, he can't get a new deal, per the link you just quoted

the new CBA prevents rookie contracts from being renegotiated until three of the mandatory four years have been completed. While Mort gives Cook an escape hatch by suggesting that the call may have been placed in jest, it’s a joke that the statement was even uttered to the Seahawks.
