CRed and That Guy are right. Hindsight is pointless because we do not know what might have changed.
Everyone knew that we were QB hungry. If we didn't make the trade with the Rams, maybe we would have taken Tannehill. Maybe not.
If we hadn't taken Tannehill, people might have traded up to get to Cousins or Wilson before we did. In this scenario, we kept our picks, but left the draft without RGIII, Tannehill, Cousins, or Wilson.
No one can know for sure what would have happened without the Rams trade.

Not the "how many picks?" argument again!
Both sides are correct:
we gave up three first rounders GROSS
we gave up two first rounders NET
Can we please move on?
Yes but unlike a paycheck uncle sam does not keep the difference.

the choice of this thread is -rw-or rg3. we would have picked Wilson in the second round not the first.
its either RG3
Or RW and additionally 3 first round picks.
funny thing is if RG 3 stays elite and healthy the trade could work out for us. but lets not act like we didn't pay an extremely high price for him.

You must be Mike Shanahan, because he is the only person on earth who could know that for sure.

And the jets should have drafted Marino, and warren sapp went way to late, and soooo many teams passed on tom brady. Come on? In retrospect obviously taking russel wilson and keeping the picks might seem wise about now. Lets see how careers unfold. Nobody thought Russel was going to be so good. Even the Seahawks or they would not have grabbed matt flynn for no reason.

if we redrafted now, wilson would have been a top 10 pick at worst. the skins weren't looking at him, so this is a wasted mental exercise because you're presenting a situation that never really existed.
it's 2-3 other players and tannehill or maybe cousins and 4 other players.
