Fuckin' coronavirus.

Ruined my vacation plans for next week. Postponed a class I've been trying to take at work since October for another couple months. Girl I asked out for last Saturday had to postpone until today because she got stuck helping her family, then today MD/DC announced all restaurants are shut down so she decided it wasn't worth it, so now I gotta wait until the weekend to have dinner at her place.

On the flip side if it blows over by June I'll have made a worthy investment on a nice two week Vegas-Cali trip by scoring super cheap airfare on Southwest. If it's still a pandemic then it's just another L i'm taking.

not a fan of bing, but decent tracker from Microsoft here:

https://www.bing.com/covid

China had 80,880 cases, in a country far more densely populated then the US, and they currently have 9,848 active cases.

I think that actually bodes well for the US. The US population density is 33 people per sq. km vs China at 146. Likewise Italy is 200 people per.

No one, and definitely not me, knows what course this will run, but given the natural space the US has, and the response at all levels of government, I truly think that we will avoid the Italian or Chinese levels, even while we maintain our uniquely independent lives.

They say it may not be able to get under control until late July or August. Hope they can work harder and faster to get it done. Has put the world on hold and notice.

I heard on the radio some of the resorts in Vegas are shutting down.

Maryland - restaurants and bars closing at 5 pm today. Delivery and take out allowed.

My office is still open.

Commute is 25 mins vs the normal 50 plus mins.

Now they have done it. I heard some areas are closing down Alcohol sales. I'm heading to the ABC store right away.
