La times:

Roughly 20% to 40% of the L.A. County’s front-line workers who were offered the vaccine declined to get the shot.

So many in Riverside County refused the vaccine — an estimated 50% — that officials met to strategize how best to distribute the unused doses

The narratives crushed by the California covid surge have been quite amazing

Hogan moved school staff up to 1B in vaccinations. Happy news. Still think it is somewhat unlikely we get back into buildings this year. Without students have vaccines we will still have lots of parents opt to keep students home.

Well have a coworker whose mom is hospitalized, may be on a ventilator. Both dad and mom have it.

It’s not looking good from what I hear

California's equity focus causing some vaccine delays, health secretary says

California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly was peppered with questions about the state's COVID-19 vaccine rollout Tuesday, as many wondered why the state has only administered about a quarter of available doses.

25% of their stockpile? JFC...completely unacceptable. California vaccine rollout has an absolute failure to go along with their disaster covid strategy.

These vaccines need to start being administered. Not sure what the delay is. Ive heard about getting on a wait list for cancellations and Elliot in the morning sd someone got the vaccine just by being in a pharmacy at closing time and a tech was walking around asking if anyone wants.

Md % administered - 35.8% (26th)
Va - 29.6% (38)
Ca - 27.6% (42)

It's just crazy that a plan wasn't in place for once we had vaccines ready go. Really, really frustrating.
