No-one has any room to say anything negative about Brunell this game. He played with poise, he managed the game, spread the ball, and made plays when we needed them. We rolled down the field on the first drive, and almost capped it (but elected not to give sellers the ball, still don't know why) off.
The defense showed flashes of what they need to become. It's time for this team to get hungry, have a tough week of practice, and come out with another W in philli.
I'm not excited just yet, but shit... if the ball wants to take a redskins bounce, might as well make the best of it.

I'll be officially in preseason excited mode if we beat the Eagles this weekend.

If we win this Sunday, we're back in the playoff hunt as the NFC is officially pathetic once again. I believe we're only one game out of the last wildcard spot.

Wow. The NFC DOES suck. At least we can thank the Lions for beating ATL. Gmanc and I have been talking about this, but if we can pick up this win in Philly, TB hasn't been playing for shit and then we come back home for the most important game of the season against Carolina.

Here's where I can acknowledge I'm biased: I thought the throw to Cooley for the TD was a heart-stopper. It should have been deeper to make it impossible for the ball to be picked.
I agree, MB was barely able to get that ball to CC. MB played his usual sub-par game.

Why minus the throw to Cooley? Did that not count or something? How about adding the potential yardage he lost when Cooley dropped that ball?
I don't understand why people always want to subtract plays out, I read an article this morning about how Portis ran 22 times for 46 yards (minus the 38 yard TD run). Why is it ok to analyze a performance by subtracting out big plays?? Why do they count any less?
Rant over.
I understand and respect your point. But the bottom line is we are playing with a below average NFL QB. He is the worst QB in the division and is not a Super Bowl QB. That is the goal when you bring in a zillion free gaents every year. When you have a young talent like Campbell who has better physical skills then people are going to bitch an moan until he gets his chance.

OK, you're going to have to stand in the 'Mr. Negative' corner with me and Schneed.

all true.
i'm one of the most vocal Brunell critics here, but it was good to see at least his mind was in the right place this game (downfield) even if every other part of his 70yr old body wasn't.
while Jason Campbell's physical abilities are in another realm compared to Brunell's (the medieval realm), the very sad, very scary fact revealed earlier this week that Jason hasn't practiced much with the first team now has me question whether he should be in there NOW.

At 2-5 I think Gibbs should have started Campbell.
At some point we have to look to the future, sooner rather than later.
