Montgomery was good run blocking and struggled a time or two pass blocking.

Yeah, he might turn out to be pretty good. Good to see the young guys play well when they get the chance.

I would say sign someone as a back and give the nod to Rinehart or Montgomery.

Yea, we could do that.. But I was thinking, maybe activate Edwin Williams? That is unless coaches don't think he's ready, then perhaps we should sign someone.. Best fill in gap would be Kendall? Since he already knows our system?

They should get andrew crummey, he's not with Cincy or Atl, then we could have 3 terps on the OL.

No disrespect to Orakpo but we should have traded down, picked up Mack and and DE with the other pick. I guess it made too much sense.

Um that's a pretty good idea. Personally I think the ultimate '09 Redskins draft would have been trade back, take Michael Oher w/ our first pick and then find someway to get Rey-Rey when he somehow fell into the 2nd round. Both are starters and making WAY bigger contributions to their teams than Rak has made. Rey-Rey is freaking awesome at SLB. 8 tackles first game. Just 4 today but he's added a sack and somewhere in there he caused to freakin fumbles!

...I'm still appalled at how so many Skins fans poo-pooed Rey as a guy who couldn't play at the pro level and would make a terrible SLB. Nooooo, let's take a pure DE instead and let him learn to be a LB

Ah, I need to let it all go. I am real glad at the optimism about Rinehart hopefully stepping in at RG and making an impact. Let's see the mean streak he had in college come out this weekend :)

I think you might be embellishing a little. Very few people had a problem with Rey Rey, the only negative being that he might have been seen by some as a constalation prize that we would have only taken had Sanchez, Orakpo, Andre Smith, and Eugene Monroe had all been taken. As far as SLB most people were unsure but not totally against it.

Nonsense. I'll go back and read the threads when I've got time but it blew my mind how many posts went on and on about his inability to play anything but MLB and how it was the talent around him that made him look good. I mean i don't even watch every USC game and I could tell that kid has got football pumping through his veins. I think Rey alone makes Cincy one of the big winners in this draft...not so sure how Smith will turnout. I think Oher may be the safer bet between the two, if just as a career RT.

But again it goes back to the larger point of taking a pure DE and trying to put him in another position. So far it's been a shit-show and I really feel for Orakpo. Two games and he's got two tackles (as a SLB in our defense that's hard to stomach).

...it's another case of the FO not having it's cookies together...we were desperate for LB talent and Oline talent. DE turned out ok because Daniels came back as the starter anyway and Zoe is putting it together nicely. It just looks like the one hand has no idea what the other is doing...as the team puts together a decent dline the FO goes out and gets a guy who can't really fill a big hole on defense in Marcus' absence. I mean in Springs' case u can say Vinny at least made the attempt w/ Hall...putting Rak in as LB when we could have easily walked away from the draft w/ a monster at the position in Rey is sort of hard to wrap my mind around. It's not as goofy as Oakland's draft but it's still utterly bizarre it relation to the team's needs.

I think it's wayyyy too early to be second guessing taking Orakpo. No ones entire career is going to be based on the first 2 games of their career. For all we know both Rey and Oher could get worse while Orakpo gets better.

We still have O-lineman. MW, the center from Maryland we picked up plays Guard, we could bring back Bridges. There's a lot we could do.

Jeremy Bridges was signed by Cardinals bro before season started.

I really hope Kendall comes back. Is Mike Williams active? Ray Brown still around?
