I didn't even think Thomas would last this long. Figured it'd be his neck or back that would be his undoing though
Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)SmootSmack 09-20-2009, 06:45 PM I didn't even think Thomas would last this long. This is probably the best part of the season to have a different RG in there. There will be an adjustment period, but with Detroit, Tampa, Carolina, and Kansas City coming up, we can flounder to 3-1 while the offense gets back to what it does well. We don't need to blow anyone out in the next few weeks, though a warning shot or two would be nice. But by December, there better be some beatdowns going on. 53Fan 09-20-2009, 07:07 PM If Rinehart comes in and plays well, we'll be better off in the long run. If it had to happen it couldn't of happened at a better time and will probably be for the best in the long run. I think the more Rinehart plays the better he'll get. GTripp0012 09-20-2009, 07:22 PM With the freakout going on today, I'm surprised no one has pointed out that we won't play a nationally televised game for another five weeks. That's plenty of time to figure out minor things like playcalling inside the ten. Randy Thomas' injury is more concerning than anything that happened in this game, but they can recover. T.O.Killa 09-20-2009, 07:24 PM We still have O-lineman. MW, the center from Maryland we picked up plays Guard, we could bring back Bridges. There's a lot we could do. Bridges signed with Arizona. I think we will be fine with Rinehart. If not we could sign Kendal. Pretty sure he could play RG. T.O.Killa 09-20-2009, 07:26 PM For us to get better we need to run to the right. Next week we should run right ever running play till we get it right. dmek25 09-20-2009, 07:27 PM His cap hit is around $5M next year, he's probably as good as gone. no cap next season, remember? Hog1 09-20-2009, 07:29 PM For us to get better we need to run to the right. Next week we should run right ever running play till we get it right. 3 and out may prevent that? PennSkinsFan 09-20-2009, 07:46 PM What worries the hell out of me is why Chad Rhinehart is a healthy scratch two years after being a third round pick. GTripp0012 09-20-2009, 07:50 PM What worries the hell out of me is why Chad Rhinehart is a healthy scratch two years after being a third round pick.Because it has to be someone, and offensive lineman who aren't in the gameplan are the no-brainers of the inactives. Since you don't rotate at the position, there's going to be 2 OL inactives every week. If I'm not mistaken, Thomas to IR would free up his base salary to be used on signing a guy like Jonas Jennings or Jon Runyan. |
