We also had a great line coached named Bugel that was good at that, and in the end that didn't turn out so well. You can only do so much with nobodys, but every now and then you need to draft a talented lineman to anchor your line.

Once again, I don't know how people can see the play of our offensive last season, losing Samuels to retirement, possibly losing Thomas (or having him with an injury waiting to happen), and having a whole bunch of guys that have no business starting in an offensive line and say, "Yup, we can rebuild this with a whole bunch of nobodys. Screw picking a first OR second round lineman."

the skins need off. linemen but they don't HAVE to be 1st or 2nd round picks. i'm not opposed to drafting one with the 1st or 2nd PICK but it's not a MUST,imo, depending on what happens in free agency.

Do you realize that without the CBA in place, this offseason prior to the uncapped year most free agents under 30 yrs. old are going to be RFAs? (example: McNeill from San Diego).

So basically, these are your options when it comes to building the offensive line:

- Draft a 1st or 2nd round lineman
- Draft a 4th, 5th, or 7th round lineman
- Trade picks for an RFA
- Sign an older UFA

While we will likely sign an UFA or two and definitely draft a lineman in the later rounds, I just don't see how you don't draft a lineman in the 1st or 2nd round.

they have more options then the 4 you've listed.

You mean hoping that one of our current players develops into a starter? That may happen with a Rhinehart at guard...and maybe Edwin Williams at center. But what about the tackle situation? You basically have Samuels and Heyer right now. One being a huge question mark because of health and the other is a question mark because of skill.

Once again, I'm amazed at how people are easily dismissing the rebuilding of the offensive line. Not that picking up a first or second rounder is the ONLY way to do it, but you make it sound like we have the Jets offensive line and don't need to spend much resources on it.

I'm all for drafting a OT in the 2nd round

i'm not dismissing the fact that the o-line needs major improvement, nor am i suggesting the skins need not use many resources in fixind it. all i'm saying is there are other ways to do it outside of using one of our 1st two picks. once again though, for the record, i am NOT OPPOSED to drafting an o-lineman with a 1st or 2nd round draft pick.

Jerry Hughes the OLB/DE from TCU would be a great complement to Orakpo in the 3-4 as the other OLB

actually I don't know about Terrence Cody anymore, just as long as he doesn't show up to the combine looking like this...

They really need to start providing shirts to people from Alabama. Two years in a row now.

Ive been looking @ real late round RB's and examining tape and i think we should grab Stafon Johnson with the 6th or 7th round pick. And if hes undrafted DEFINATELY bring him in to camp. An ideal backfield would be Portis (with the good kind of chip on his shoulder) and Stafon Johnson being the bigger backs sharing the workload and sprinkling in a good amount of Anthony Alridge as a change of pace.
