Ok so Lombardi's second mock draft has us picking up Aldon Smith. I like that idea or Prince Amukamara. Or even Julio Jones

Smith has been flying up the boards lately, no surprise anyone who's watches MIZZ knows smith can play

Yeah, I looked him up after seeing his name on this thread and I have to say no thanks. Seemed like he got by to much on being big and fast. In college you can overpower people, in the NFL you need to be Brian Orakpo to even think about getting away with it. Unlike Orakpo though, his Smith kid plays high (no not 420 high).

Tall. Plays too high at times and needs to learn to better protect his lower body. A lot stronger in upper body than lower. Struggles to anchor at the point of attack versus bigger offensive tackles. Will get up the field and disrupt in the backfield. Shows adequate discipline with contain. Can make plays versus the run in pursuit but backside effort is a bit inconsistent.

Ayers seems like the best fit that will be available when we pick at 10. Quinn might be better but theres a chance he might be to slow to handle coverage assignments.

Smith has a lot of potential but id rather have miller or Quinn. Ayers is a good option also

Any interest in Norwood.. still any in Sproles?

Norwood definitely! Sproles has shown to be more valuable on return duty than RB...we already have a midget returner (who is faster).

Huge Mizzou fan. I had the chance to see Aldon a few times this year. One thing that is obvious with him is his natural speed. It's not that same kind of muscle explosiveness we see from Orakpo, but he's FAST. He'll almost certainly play 3-4 OLB in the NFL and the best comparison I could give would be Shaun Phillips. Similar build, but don't expect him to be THAT effective.

The truth is if you expect Aldon Smith to potentially be the best OLB in the draft, you'd be crazy. He's at best the 4th ranked OLB in my opinion.

Robert Quinn, Von Miller, and Ryan Kerrigan would all fit our style better.

Ok i don't see the greatness with quinn. And is he the one who missed a whole year with character issues?
