My guess is that you've captured Shanny's idea. I don't think Hightower is here to send Helu to the bench. Instead, he's here for insurance should Helu struggle learning pass protection.

Yeah! don't think he would be very excited about either Helu or Royster being in a game in critical passing situations until he's actually seen what they can do in game conditions. What it means for K. Williams may yet to be determined. The RB competition is becoming crowded.

Matty added 118 catches in 3 seasons.......that's money

I really love this move.

Instantly the most proven comidity we have at RB. the guy brings speed, youth, and experience to our back field for an old guy we got for next to nothing last year. Great move.

Great trade, love Hightower. He will fulfill his potential with the Redskins, which he didn't do with the cards.

The reality of Shanahan is that unless he's got a stud like Terrell Davis in the backfield, everyone gets a shot at the ball.

I think we'll keep Hightower and he'll get his touches, especially on the receiving end. We'll keep Helu because he's got the one-cut style Shanahan loves and enough speed to threaten the defense on a homerun. And it will be up to Torain, Royster, and K Williams to battle for the other spot. Will probably come down to teams.

Helu will lead our team in touches and yards from scrimmage at the RB position.

So this is the veteran RB they've been talking about adding it seems. I heard trade in the works with Arizona this morning and I actually thought it was for Max Hall

Christ O'Mighty, can you imagine the crap storm that would've ensued if that happened...

...I would've wanted Skelton, though. Skelton by a mile.

The jury is out on this one for me until I know the draft pick involved. If it's a 5th or better, I don't like it. 6th would be okay, 7th would make my day.

I guess I'm just not wowed by the trade if it's a 5th. Yes, we shipped off Vonnie, but taking him out of the equation, I don't like a 5th for a player of questionable value at a position where we have already have a lot of potential.

You and me both.

This was the text I got "Clemens not enough? You guys are talking to AZ."

I just hope a couple of these FA bums they've signed will have decent ratings in Madden 12. Same goes for Beck.

Why did they draft all those RBs and WRs in the draft again? Looks like they should've targeted some OL and maybe [gasp] a QB!?

Damn Diehard, pretty harsh against the moves we made. I like what we are doing. Nice and quiet. These kinds of off seasons get things moving back towards be a winning franchise again. So how many pre BA and MS players are going to be left on this team once we finalize our 53 man roster? That is a question I would like to know. I would think it may be only as high as 35% or so. Lots of turnover the last 2 years. There should be some good players in all of these guys. We also have added alot of youth as opposed to lots of older players.
