The everything Gruden thread

Would we have any consistency (like the damn Cowboys) through the draft?

Can our FO switch out personnel effectively in two years?

Agreed. Say what you want about Jerry, but he stuck with Garrett far longer than his fanbase (our ours) would have. They've known exactly how to draft every year, starting with that O-line.

When Dallas eventually makes their inevitable playoff tumble, their squad is still set up for success (even if they let Garrett go at some point).

Watch St. Louis Rams vs. Washington Redskins [12/07/2014] - NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014120708/2014/REG14/rams@redskins/videos/0ap3000000440161)

He is not head coach material.

I think Jerry has a lot of good people that do enough to keep him from f*cking things up. Like when they stop him from getting Johnny Jackass during the draft.

Too bad Bruce Allen doesn't have anyone preventing him from making dumb mistakes.

I was totally on the Gruden bandwagon for a long time, but I'm extremely discouraged with this team right now. We were absolutely not ready to play today. It wasn't a thing of talent or lack of depth, we just weren't ready to play. And it seems like there's no discipline on this team at all... penalties, dumb plays, and a seeming lack of effort for much of the season.

Gruden needs at least one more year, because this is a loser organization and he's working with losers, but I'm not nearly as hopeful about the future now as I was 2 months ago. I voted "2" on the poll.

Both teams are not going to the playoffs. But just watching the game today, you could just tell which team wanted to be out there, you could tell which team was really playing hard, and which one was just going through the motions.

Also, Phillip Thomas is just terrible.

Other than this is the Redskins, give us one good reason why the coach of the worst secondary that any of us has ever seen should be named interim coach? To punish him, perhaps?

I can hardly wait until Raheem Morris is fired.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting its a good idea, I was just pointing out that things suck that bad.

Well, Bruce Allen's first choice was David Shaw

Bruce wanted David Shaw.
Dan wanted Jon Gruden.

They settled for Jay.

Just heard Cooley on a pregame interview. According to him, naturally he still has many friends on the team that talk to him straight. He stated the team is totally behind Jay, that they love the direction he is trying to take the team. They love his honesty and leadership. They believe he CAN get it done....
Love to hear this, especially under the circumstances we are operating.

Totes meaningless. Players said same about Shanahan while here, and that story changed the minute he left the building. It will be the same with Gruden.

Do you have a connection with the team? Where does your info come from? I appreciate your input, but at least....on the surface, I would value CC's opinion on the issue over yours.

Typical, the curse of the Danny strikes again...guess the younger fans can take solace in that they will hopefully outlive the little bastard.
