Do the reports that discuss Smith as a west coast guy, wanting to interact with the team remotely in more of a consulting role have any credibility?
A.J. Smith to be Redskins GM?DYoungJelly 12-26-2014, 05:06 PM Do the reports that discuss Smith as a west coast guy, wanting to interact with the team remotely in more of a consulting role have any credibility? REDSKINS4ever 12-26-2014, 06:12 PM Guys..how about all the talk as long as Snyder owns the team the Skins will never be good?? 90% of every post on redskins forums all lead back to the same issue…the OWNER..so do you really think any of this will work as long as Snyder owns the team..just asking .. Yes....the owner has nothing to do with assembly of the team or coaching. Ownership has nothing to do with the play on the field either....the team has suffered because of Snyder's incompetent meddling with the firings of Norv and Marty but the team has made the playoffs four times since he's owned it....it's not like the Redskins have had a bunch of 2-14 seasons with Snyder as owner.....we could be a GM away from returning to the glory years... True... If he ever hired a real GM and let him do his job... To date, he has not done this... I hope he does, but I am not holding my breath.... REDSKINS4ever 12-27-2014, 03:11 PM True... If he ever hired a real GM and let him do his job... To date, he has not done this... I hope he does, but I am not holding my breath.... Snyder was hands off when Marty had control of the team and personnel....Snyder also didn't meddle when Joe Gibbs was drafting the players.....when Allen and Shanahan arrived he was hands off with them running things as well....I'm all in for A.J. Smith becoming the GM.....we need someone who can look at the entire team and spot where all of the weaknesses are and get the right personnel in that can turn those weaknesses into great strengths....Smith can do that... SFREDSKIN 12-29-2014, 05:37 PM I say the Redskins bring back Morocco Brown and make him the GM, he is a hot candidate out there and knows this team well. That Guy 12-30-2014, 03:11 AM I think Scot McCloughan would be a pretty good hire. good track record. no idea if he's looking for a GM job. REDSKINS4ever 12-30-2014, 04:49 AM [QUOTE=Paintrain;1101468] The front office doesn't get many right but they nailed it with Breeland. It was reported that Raheem Morris was begging the front office to draft Breeland. Scot McCloughan is NFL's best talent scout, self-employed and living on a farm (http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12014699/scot-mccloughan-nfl-best-talent-scout-self-employed-living-farm) Chico23231 12-30-2014, 09:06 AM I think Scot McCloughan would be a pretty good hire. good track record. no idea if he's looking for a GM job. I dont care how much he drank, he still smart enough to stay away from Dan and Bruce. I think he would stay away from this circus |
