redskinsfan1980 01-02-2015, 03:52 AM No thanks we don't need any more busts like Bobby Wilson,Tracy Rocker Kennard Lang and Andre Johnson either. We need someone who knows what they are doing.
I think we had a guy here who knew what he was doing, but we let him go.
HailGreen28 01-02-2015, 08:01 AM No thanks we don't need any more busts like Bobby Wilson,Tracy Rocker Kennard Lang and Andre Johnson either. We need someone who knows what they are doing. The 90's were a long miserable decade with Casserly and Norv, but in the end they built a good team. Year 1 after Casserly's dismissal, playoffs and the Skins had accumulated 3 first round picks that draft from previous transactions.
Later, with the Texans #1 overall pick, Casserly had a choice between Reggie Bush, Vince Young, and Mario Williams. He was widely criticized for choosing Williams and fired sometime soon after that. Looks to me like he made the right call, there.
If he's not too far removed from the game, Casserly might be a good choice for GM. A young hungry guy who's currently in someone else's front office may be best.
KI Skins Fan 01-02-2015, 08:48 AM Don't know where you stand on Gruden? But a lot of skins fans will complain either way...when we hired Shanny we all loved it, then he started to wear on us, but in 2012 when we won division we thought we had finally found something...then 2013 happened and we all wanted a fresh up and coming coordinator, now after one season a lot of fans want to dump him. We as Skins fans are just as bad as the FO of this organization.
Once again, please stop blaming the fans. Blaming the fans is like blaming concentration camp inmates for poor conditions in the camp.
We fans don't make any decisions, so we can be as fickle and stupid as we want to be and it doesn't change a thing. We are simply the emotionally abused victims of an NFL franchise that has failed on the field.

that is a really good analogy. some will find it in poor taste but the message resonates with me as a reader. i may have to use that myself.
im guessing AJ Smith doesnt want to be any more involved than he already is.
faxing us report cards on players he watchs on TV as he sits in lovely Del Mar hitting golf balls along the coast at Torrey Pines ....
i lived around del mar, the most beautiful area ever. there is actually a redskins bar a block off the beach.
SmootSmack 01-02-2015, 11:58 AM Fans often act on impulse and that impulse is usually ignorant, idiotic, whatever. Redskins fans in general I find to be dumber than many other NFL fans. Maybe it's a product of just being a poor organization for so many years. And I don't mean they're dumb people. They're just dumb when it comes to the Redskins.
All that said, that's a lot of what being a fan is all about. Fans have the freedom, even the right, to be complete morons with almost zero repercussions. Ownership and the front office doesn't get that privilege

LOL. I've felt this way for years and said so in the past

I think the Redskins Organization gives the fans a license to act ignorant, idiotic, etc.
When you speak of impulse, you can easily look at the Redskins FO decision in Snyder tenure and truely see the definition of impulse, knee jerk decisions.
The sports radio and print journalist of DC fans the flames as well. Certainly not innocent in this culture of Redskins fandom.

And I've said many, many times the Redskins FO too often acts like idiot fans. And as I said above, they don't have that privilege.
Your insistence of finding fault with the media at every turn baffles me. But I guess it's your opinion and you're entitled to it

Personally I am most dumb as a Skins fan when I desperately hope that there is some light at the end of the tunnel, and so I cling to a person that we've hired/drafted/signed as a savior. I get my hopes up and think positive thoughts which are both foolish and irrational.
