FrenchSkin 11-01-2016, 06:10 AM Watching the game again, I think we didn't emphasize how good the O-line played! Pass protection was really great, although Cincy was blitzing a lot. Good job on the running game, 3.2 yards/attempt with only 31 attempts isn't bad, is it?

We are averaging 24.8 attempts per game (20th in the league) and 4.5/attempt. (7th in the league). So generally, we rush less than most teams but do so more effectively than most teams. The league median is 4.2 yards per attempt. Only Minnesota averages less than 3.1 per attempt.

We made more attempts and got less yardage per rush. So ...
JoeRedskin 11-01-2016, 10:18 AM More stats (and evidence of our RZ issues):
We have the second highest yards gained on offense.
We have the 15th most average points scored per game.
Atlanta is first in both categories.

How much of that do you think is on the absence of Matt Jones?

Certainly some. Fat Rob left some yards on the field, but that's his first NFL start and he is a rookie. I thought for both instances, he did a damn fine job. I thought he showed a better instincts, ran better between the tackles and was more decisive.
over the mountain 11-01-2016, 10:42 AM Cooley said that the NFL did not have all the review cameras for the London game that they do for regular games in the States. He also said they didnt have a camera angle to review if Jordan Reed got a 1st down with 29 seconds left in the first half. The Refs ruled Reed down at the Cincy 38 yard line, 1 yard short of the 1st down. They then called for a booth review with 13 seconds left. I assume at this point they looked and couldnt find a camera angle so the call stood.
If they did have all the cameras, they would have had a camera angle to review and we would have had 1st down with 13 seconds to go at the Cincy 37 yard line with 2 timeouts left. Enough time to pick up 5 yards and make the FG attempt a 50 yarder vs a 55 yarder. (Assuming Reed did get the 1st down after review, idk).
--------------
Also, re time outs. I am a firm believer that in the 2nd half you save those as best as possible for a potential last min drive to tie or win. But in the first half, why isnt Gruden calling them to save us from a delay of game? I know we had at least 1 delay of game called in the 1st half and we went into the locker room at half time with 2 unused time outs.

That slip on 4th and 1 was killer though ... I wish we had AlfMo for that kinda of play alone. I dont trust Jones or Fat Rob to take contact and fall forward 2 yards for the 1st.

ha..dude saw the crease, got so excited and forgot to put his foot down. It hurt, but its experience. I applaud the call the go for it and the playcall itself...got execute it.
Chico23231 11-01-2016, 12:24 PM Rob Kelley's starting debut could lead to RB shift for Redskins - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN (http://www.espn.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/28236/rob-kelleys-starting-debut-could-lead-to-rb-shift-for-redskins)
boom
Meanwhile, Kelley’s first start resulted in a 21-carry, 87-yard game in the 27-27 tie. He wasn’t perfect, but he consistently ran tough. On some carries, he bounced off defenders leaving his teammates on the sidelines shouting and punching air. Those on the field appreciated it as well.
Physical
He wasn’t flashy – his longest carry was 16 yards, but 12 runs resulted in gains of at least four yards. Kelley had no negative carries.
cant dance when you Fat Rob.
He kept running forward,” Redskins tackle Trent Williams said. “He’ll give you second, third, fourth, fifth efforts. He keeps the pile moving. I’m certainly impressed by that. As a lineman, as soon as I feel the pile, I let my guy go and help clear it off, and you’d notice he’s still going. That shows a lot of toughness out of him, that he continues to pound the rock like that.”
Chalk up Silverblunt as a fan.
Id say keep with Kelly, see if you can light that fire under Jones.
TheMalcolmConnection 11-01-2016, 01:20 PM Reminded me a LOT of Morris. Even when nothing was there, he still got 1-2 yards just by falling forward.
