funandgunner 10-24-2005, 11:18 AM It's okay to question what gibbs does, but it should be noted that he has a better track record than mostly all that's in the football business. I would think twice to publicly go out on the record and criticize him - even though he is human and makes mistakes - i doubt that there are few people that can come close to his football smarts, work ethic, courage, and intuition - the last one being the most important. It took him until the last 4 minutes in cowboys game to get back into his groove, but it started when he choose brunnell instead of ramsey. He was always known to make the critical decision at the right time, even though it went against the grain of thought (that takes some cajones - which is street talk for courage :) ).
And I know you may thinking I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but in the offseason I was posting using this same message name (funandgunner) on the message boards on nfl sportsline defending gibbs, the moss trade, their moves to get campbell (just wait to see how that turns out - i bet he will be a superbowl qb), and the redskins in general. Anything gibbs touches seems to turn to gold - not immediately, but eventually. Before you criticize gibbs for anything, really think things through because do you really think you know more about football than gibbs ?
skinsfanthru&thru 10-24-2005, 11:39 AM but we still gotta watch out for another controversy cuz Ramsey did complete 100% of his passes yesterday. ;)

Some here think they do.
Gmanc711 10-24-2005, 01:49 PM START PATRICK RAMSEY!!! lol
mooby 10-24-2005, 01:51 PM START PATRICK RAMSEY!!! lol
This man knows what he's doing. ^ Ramsey is gonna have a breakout season, Brees' style. Brunell doesn't even know what he's doing.
htownskinfan 10-24-2005, 02:12 PM Soooo many people were so convinced that Gibbs had lost it, and that Brunell was done.
Many people were really fired up, funny to see that some of those people haven't posted much since then.
I didnt agree with it then and i still dont, just because brunells doing great doesnt change that,I'm glad Brunells doing great, but we cant predict how Ramsey would have done, probably not as good but who knows? why i dont agree with it is because we've put all this time in ramsey,he's a number1 pick,he deserved the chance to start till he just completely stunk it up like Brunell did last yr,Brunell doesnt have that long left to play and he's already tweaked his calf in practice and if he makes it through the season unhurt it will be a minor miracle,he played hurt last yr and look how he played, now we'll probably try to deal Ramsey in the offseason, everybody knows gibbs wants to get rid of him so i would think that would decrease his trade value, hopefully we will still be able to get something for him besides a 7th round draft pick
I can say pretty confidently that Ramsey would not be playing at the same level that Brunell is.
Brunell is a proven veteran and that's what is really showing through. He's decisive and he gets the ball out quickly, something that Ramsey has always had problems with.
Ramsey was still looking very shakey all through the preseason while Brunell seemed to have a much better command of the offense.
Plus there's the aspect of his mobility, when the pocket breaks down MB can roll out and make things happen by scrambling or tossing on the run, that simply wouldn't be happening with Ramsey.
It's true that we really don't know what Ramsey could have done, but I think it's a fair assumption that he wouldn't be doing what Brunell is doing.
12thMan 10-24-2005, 02:25 PM he deserved the chance to start till he just completely stunk it up like Brunell did last yr
I too was and still am a Ramsey supporter, but not at the expense of winning.
I think it's pretty evident that Ramsey had a fair shot at leading this team, and why should Gibbs have waited for Ramsey to stink up the joint before putting in Brunell? Who's benefitting from that?

I don't know Matty, that one pass he threw was RIGHT on target. 8 yards baby! ;)
SmootSmack 10-24-2005, 03:12 PM Alls I know is when Brunell's in the game Rock fumbles, but when it's Ramsey he scores touchdowns....take from that what you will boys.
