The Official Warpath Sign Tim Rattay and Cut Todd Collins ThreadGridIron26 05-10-2007, 12:04 PM I say sign Patrick Ramsey. Patrick signed with Broncos DGreen28 05-10-2007, 01:01 PM If you watched Todd Collins in last years preseason games you would know that Collins cannot play. Your right I saw those games last year. For someone who knew AL's system he sucked. Cut Collins. I would rather have Ramsey, Brunell Rattay,or good ole Gus F. Bbaker24 05-10-2007, 04:17 PM i think jordan palmer can be a good #2 given some time to learn the system Longtimefan 05-10-2007, 04:45 PM  Why are people acting like it's that easy to just switch parts in and out on a football team? Did we learn nothing from this past debacle of a season? You bring in Tim Rattay, he's going to know nothing about our offense. And exactly how is he going to get enough reps to learn anything over the next season or so when we're concentrating on giving almost all the reps to Campbell? Collins is not talented. But he is cheap, and he knows how to operate the offense. Rattay will cost more, and would take time to train. Plus, who says Rattay wants to be a back-up QB on a team with a young starter. It could be he's still on the market because he does not want to be a back-up. I certainly could imagine him wanting to be a starting QB for some team. With our current QB situation, it's not likely he would even be considered. Dirtbag59 05-10-2007, 04:53 PM How the hell does a thread about Tim Rattay go on for 11 pages? skinsfan_nn 05-10-2007, 04:56 PM I still don't understand what's so appealing about Tim Rattay. Nothing. The QB situation is just fine for this year, we don't need to waste cash on TR. Collins/Brunell are going nowhere THIS year! Master4Caster 05-10-2007, 04:56 PM You're just writing this because it's the boring part of the off-season, aren't you?! :laughing- The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, until you cross over it. The other lane is always going faster, until you get in it. The other player always looks better, until you sign him. Yes, I think Tim Rattay would be a decent back-up somewhere, but exchanging him for Collins is going to have marginal impact on the team -- unless they get into a game. Then, it will probably be worse in either case. I'd rather see what we have in Hollenbach and Palmer and move one of them up the depth chart. skinsfan_nn 05-10-2007, 05:21 PM Well this pipe dream thread can die a fast death, TR to Titans! http://www.redskins.com/news/APNewsDetail.jsp?id=26269 Longtimefan 05-10-2007, 05:25 PM I still don't understand what's so appealing about Tim Rattay. Absolutely nothing, and to replace T. Collins with T. Rattay would at this point in time be counterproductive. We have a young QB working in Europe and doing well, we just drafted Jordan Palmer who many feel has some upside. QB is the last thing we should be thinking about at this time. Develop our young talent, and leave other people's problems where they are. We definately do not need another BU QB, far too many other needs. SmootSmack 05-10-2007, 07:45 PM I'm locking this, it's pointless now (more so than it was when it started) |
