We all know Gibbs is classier. He's too classy sometimes. They are both HOF coaches despite BB's cheating moves. The tuck rule (non-call) changed history forever. But he was going for the jugular like he has all year. They have not won by less than 17 points all year. They are on pace to break the scoring average (all time) for one year. They also were sending a message to the Colts. I think Bill should have run the ball more, taken Brady out sooner, and definitely kicked the FG, but our defense couldn't stop them. Gibbs needs to be more aggressive with his playcalling and a little less nice sometimes. BB was not classy, but he had the right to spank us today. We need to take the lesson from this game, we CAN do that to the JETS next week. Let's see how our team responds.

Just simply put Gibbs and the boys back in the 80's and early 90's exemplified class and dignity (and still do), and that is why he's so revered in so many circles from football to racing today. On the other hand you have Mr. Belichick who's the complete opposite and there will always be suspicion about how he won those three Super Bowls and the likely fourth one come February.

yeah,.. where's all the winner talk after that beautiful game??

I actually would've sent the house after brady every play after they went for it on forth down up 38-0 going into the fourth quarter. fuck the score I would've beaten the shit out of ayone in their backfield... fines be damned...

Exactly what I was thinking in my original post. What did we have to lose at that point? A penalty or two? Move the chains for the Pats? So what? Put Brady on his ass and then tell Belichick to put that in his pipe and smoke it.

I'm the lone dissenting vote (so far) but it's with a condition.. Yes, they ran the score up, but no more than they have done vs. anyone else.. If you've watched any of their games, they have beat the tar out of everyone and kept on coming.. It looks worse because we couldn't generate anything on offense.. Yeah, they could have throttled down but that's what 3/4 of us kill Gibbs for so it'd be hypocritical to whine about it happening to us..

Pats Score Often in 52-7 Rout, But Did They Cross the Line? - washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/28/AR2007102801741.html?sid=ST2007102801575)

"Gibbs glared. After the game, he barely shook Belichick's hand as he raced off the field."

And then there's this

That's more common sense than I've read here all night. Kudos.

you know, though guys... we did score like 52 points on a pathetic 49er team a couple of years ago. I don't think we went for it on fourth in the redzone ahead by forty, nor would we have, but we buried that team and scored in the fourth quarter there as well...

I DO think since everyone was saying they hadn't played a D like ours yet they were out to prove a point, and they did it...

I'm more pissed that the skins allowed them to do it than the fact that they did it...

I'm also extremely pissed that it didn't seem like our coaching staff was getting pissed through the playcalling (defensively)... again, the only thing that would've made me feel better was to send a message back, instead of lying there crying like the fucking whipping boy.

I was talking with some friends before the game and they pointed out several instances, throughout the week where it sounded like our team had no confidence we could win the game...

a couple of 4-3 ain't bad comments and gibbs saying no one had a game plan for them, etc...

we need to grow some balls collectively and let this loss and embarrassment fuel a fire that burns for the rest of the season in our guts and start playing 60 minutes of football every week for the rest of the season.

Amen to that. It would have gone a long way for Greg Williams to go "WTF, lets blitz every f***ing play!" Or, if Gibbs had got in Belichick's face after the game. But unfortunately, none of that happened and face it folks, we look like a bunch of p*ssies. Does anyone really think that any team in the NFL actually fears us anymore? Seriously!

Gibbs has never in his career taken the approach of "We're going to stomp these guys into obilvion" Not publicly. He's always shown respect for the caliber of the opposition

I don't think the Redskins sent a "message" back for two reasons. 1.) They were so depleted as it was with Smoot, Rogers, and Rocky out and exhausted from being on the field so much that they probably didn't have the energy to do it. 2.) I'm sure they were told not to stoop to the Patriots' level

When we scored 52 on the 49ers, Ramsey played the 4th quarter and something like 23 of our final 25 plays from scrimmage were basic running plays

Apparently you have trouble reading posts or possibly just reading altogether. If you had put down the crack pipe for a moment you would have read where I had hoped for Gibbs to do something similar to what you just stated. Maybe not "smack someone in the mouth," as that would be as infantile as your reply, but at least let Belichick know that he had taken exception to what had just happened (you know skinsfan69, run up the score?). If that's too complicated for you to grasp in my original post, then please go back to your pipe. As you've stated the obvious that even my 10-yr. old could have said more intelligently: "This is the NFL, not pee wee league," the NFL is a PROFESSIONAL league in case you didn't get the memo. Professionals don't pout and get all pissy because they've been accused of cheating in the NFL or cheating with another guy's wife. Professionals don't run up the score either. As I said in the original post (again, probably too much for you to comprehend), the Pats were much better than us Sunday, plain and simple. Ain't no cryin' going on here because of that or anything else. You're the loser my friend for not being able to understand simple language.

Oh I understand English very well. You started this silly thread by crying like a little bitch cause the score was 38 nothing and you wanted Bill B. to call off the dogs. You wanted to him to stop throwing. My point is why? They don't play to stop scoring and run out the clock. That is not what they do and I don't have a problem with it. Honestly I wish our coaches had that mentality. Perhaps if we did we wouldn't be blowing 4th q leads all the time.

It's not the Pats coaching staff's fault that we suck so bad that we can't stop the Pats 2nd stringers, or we can't get a first down to keep our defense off the field, or stop Mike Vrabel from running the same play he has been running for 4 years.

Plus your crying about Brady being all smug on the sidelines? For what? You would be smug too if you just threw for 3td's and ran for 2 and were banging a hot ass supermodel. Why do so many people hate on the guy?

You just sound like a little 2 year old baby who got his milk bottle taken from him. Shut up and stop bitching. We got the living shit beat out of us and all people can do is cry about how the Pats are classless.
