which we've had more than a few opportunities to do over the last couple of years...
arent we 3 of the last 4? Our loss today will only make the dallas losses to us hurt them that much more in the long run...

I don't see why running up the score is the same as "doing what he needs to" or being "all about winning." Did Gibbs, Walsh, Knoll, Landry, Lombardi, etc. do that? No. The Pats won, and by a lot. Adding extra TDs on top serves no purpose but to humiliate your opponent. This is sports--there's still something called "sportsmanship." The classy move is to kick the FG--and it's not like they need more practice scoring or converting.
The point is that all of the other coaches I know of who had dominant teams did not do this--why is Belichick more about winning than all these ledgends when he does it? Classless, however a skilled coach he is.
(BTW, Do you think Dungy would do that? Not a chance--he's a class act. He's got an undefeated team as well, and they're the SB champs--you don't have to run it up on folks to be a winner in this day and age.)

He's been that way with the media for 25 years. This didn't just happen this week
doesn't make it right...
It just doesnt instill confidence in your team... You could say something like "they are an excellent football team and were gonna have to come out and execute our gameplan perfectly"
instead of basically saying "we're screwed... we cant think of any way to beat them and neither can anyone else"
It was like he was preemptively taking heat off of the players for a loss that hadn't happened yet, and then with Carlos Rogers pulling a Man-Ram talking about how this game wasn't the end of the world and 4-3 is still good before the game... I kinda felt like that was the tone set, and that starts at the top.

I agree, the players should be getting fired up for the game and wanting to win. Teams that cuase upsets dont go and say to themselves were basically screwed, they try to pump themselves up to play to a level that might be beyond them. Football is a game that can still be about who wants it more, and the pats really wanted it more then us.
Although I still say we should have went after their season by just roughing Brady up a little and make them pull him or risk injury.

Classless or not, we deserve to loose like that if we aren't going to show up on the same field as the other team.
I think it's time for these boys to start playing like men and put a helmet in someone's chest and knock 'em over and get in the endzone.

Pretty typical, as usual many are looking to deflect the real problem on to some one else, Belichik, Gibbs has had 4 years to build a team and has failed miserably, and yet that is some how Belichiks fault, don't make me laugh! This is a man's game we are not talking about a bunch of 10 year old kids here who are in the learning process, these guy's are paid a lot of money to win, what happens if the Pats let up and some one gets hurt because they didn't play to their full capabilities? What about losing some continuity and rhythm because you start to play different than your used to, especially on the heels of the biggest game of the regular season for them? Gibbs as usual was as unprepared as you could be for this game, it's as if he has one set of plays for every one.
So while Gibbs is blowing smoke up every one's A** as usual on how good of a football team we either beat or lost to, remember this, he can barely survive in a conference that is mediocre at best, yes we slug it out every week against teams that should be screaming for us to stop running up the score, unfortunately when he meets a real team it's not even a contest.
Every one immediately blames the coach on this one, yet you don't think Gibbs little banter back and forth this week with Brady had nothing to do with this out come? You could see in Brady's eyes when it was 35 nothing he wanted to go out and score 35 more, my thoughts and I said it at half time was he was out to shut Gibbs up, he didn't appreciate Gibbs and his usual child psychology talking about how we are the biggest underdogs in the history of sports, as if Brady and the Pat's were that stupid, so if Gibbs was correct then why is any one crying over the out come it should have been expected, in fact if that was the case I think we did quite well, I guess Brady wanted to make Gibbs look like he knew what he was talking about, and he did!
Sorry but the real story here is Gibbs and the fact as good as he was in his first tenure, he is as bad in his second! The scary part is he doesn't have a clue!

I'd respond, but I'm sure you'll say something about I have no actual football knowledge and I'm just a cheerleader and so on, so I won't bother.

Late comer as usual...
Do I think Belichick ran up the score? absolutely...
Now the next question...does it really matter?
They won, we lost...on to the Meadowlands!!!!!
