SBXVII 11-16-2010, 03:28 PM I just dont get where Eagle fans should be upset. They have been one of the more dominating teams over the last 10 years. 9 playoff appearances in 11 years. of those 9 - 5 NFC championships, 1 superbowl appearance. I would gladly trade our last 10 years for theirs in a second.
No no you misunderstood me. lol. He's tired of hearing every year that "next year will be the Skins year." and to be honest he's probably right. How many of us sat back over the summer and had to tell people to chill out with the Super Bowl BS? Just cause Shanahan has been there doesn't mean we are going year 1.
If the owner was looking for that I think he should have picked up a HC who would have came in and evaluated the talent on the team and decided to run an offense and defense that worked best for the players we had. Part of Zorn's problem was we didn't have the right personel to run the WCO. I'm trying not to stick up for Zorn here. So what does Snyder pick up? A HC that runs the WCO. It might take 2 to 3 years before we should even be talking playoffs. Then there's the defense.... we are switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4, we don't have the personel to run a 3-4. But we are not doing bad doing it.
Basically I'm saying before fans scream fire someone can we give this HC time to effectively get the team working right? thats all and not expect miracles right from the get go.
I'm severely disappointed in last night but the team has looked better in other games.
I would hope any reasonable person wouldn't expect us to be playing for home field advantage. However, when you go out and pay $100million for this guy, $7 million for the best coach out there, trading for McNabb, Jamaal Brown to help solidify the oline, you do kind of think we would win those "winable" games. And at least be in the mix for a wild-card. Which we still are. Only two games out of the division with two games against the Giants still on the schedule. So, we aren't done by any means. But Redskins fans as a whole buy into the hype quicker than any team in the NFL. I went from 7-9 to 9-7 as an early prediction, and think it is still possible. I think people / fans are tired of seeing the same Redskins team every year no matter who the coach is, who the QB is...it just seems we are destined to be mediocore or worse. Last night was just unacceptable, especially coming of a bye week. We looked so unprepared it was ridiculous.
I'm really not sure any amount of preparation would have made a difference. We flat out got whupped on the field. Their starting 22 just outplayed our 22, in a big way.

And our DC got schooled by their OC. What makes me mad is how in the hell does a D that has been ranked in the top 10 over the last few years is ranked last and allowing a shitload of yards. New system, whatever excuse they want to use, then don't switch if you don't have the personnel.

no doubt they wanted it more than we did. But i just go back to a couple of plays during that game. Running 3 straight times on our first series (with a guy that hasn't played at all), then Moss's failed attempt at catching the ball on 3rd down, which led to the 21-0 score. Then Galloway dropping the pass on 3rd down, then its 28-0. If we convert those two third downs i think it is a totally different ball game. Those drives stay alive and maybe we put some points up. It was just so out of control when the 2nd quarter started. Kills me to see old ass Galloway out there. He really does absolutely nothing. No one is scared of him. The single cover him every play which does nothing for any other receiver on the field. I still find it hard to believe Thomas couldn't play infront of this guy.
over the mountain 11-16-2010, 03:55 PM most of us were loving the D when they were getting all those turnovers.
im confused, to be honest this year it is hard for me to see what adjustments we make in game on the d side of the ball. its just hard to tell what kind of D we are playing on any given play watching on the tv.

Unfortunately we don't have the offense to convert those turnover into points. I'd be curious to know what points of turnover stat for the Skins this season looks like.

It's this. I understand that we're not a great team by any means, it's just getting blown out that bad at home considering we've beaten the same team in their place to the tune of 59 points just makes me feel like that change is never coming. I thought if anything like you said, McNabb, Jamaal Brown, Trent Williams that we'd be looking so much better by now.
hooskins 11-16-2010, 04:05 PM Yeah it looked like we did jack **** during the bye week.
Ruhskins 11-16-2010, 04:19 PM Points From Turnovers
Before the bye, Washington had approximately 9 INTs and 9 Fumbles Recovered for a total of 18 Takeaways.
Since two of those takeaways ended the game (or the Redskins ran out the clock), let's say 16 true take aways.
From 16 Takeaways, the Redskins got 4 TDs and 3 FGs.

Williams has played plenty this year.
Regardless, not sure any of that would have mattered with the way they shredded our D. They scored at will.
