The Eagles would have beaten any team in the NFL by at least 10 points last night IMO. Vick was that good, it was QB perfection. In fact if someone can find a video of a bad play he made last night I'd love to see it cuz I don't remember a single one. That being said...
Sorry to :bdh: but I can't help but question the 3-4 again. I think 90% here agree the current roster is much better suited for the 4-3. I just picture a DL of Carter, Orakpo, LoAx, and a MOTIVATED AH. Plus the first three guys are athletic enough that we could use a lot of "exotic looks" with the DLs dropping back into coverage etc.
Another problem I see with the 3-4 is its complexity. I'm no X O expert but what I like about the 3-4 is all the different looks you can show at the line. It can make things very confusing for the opposing offense. The flip side is that it can also be confusing for the defense. Guys are switching positions and assignments from play to play and you really need some cerebral guys out there who know what the hell is going on, otherwise a good offense will make you run around like chickens. Unfortunately Fletcher is the only guy with a brain on this D (maybe Rak and Los too), and Hall and Landry ain't winning a Nobel Prize in physics anytime soon.
Maybe it just takes time/players like others keep saying (I sure hope so). But couldn't we have started with a 4-3 and transitioned to a 3-4 as the right players were added? Plus where are we getting all these players from? We need 4 OLs at least!
Whatever... rant over.
CC your rant would have to go some to rival that of Chad Dukes yesterday, even LaVar was lost for words. Phillip Daniels even took time to weigh-in with a response.
