Yup. Rex, along with many of the other starters, sat on the sidelines tonight.

Rex wins the competition, if it were me making the decision.

if we're winning/looking good offensively, it doesn't really matter. grossman is 20-13 i heard as a starter (did not confirm), both are pushing 30, and neither one is going to the probowl, so it's whatever.

average QB A vs average QB B isn't nearly as exciting as the local sports media is making it out to be (or, rather, isn't a story worth nearly as much press as it's been given).

The moment that Rex was slated to sit out this game, and the fact Shanny sits his starters last preseason game was enough to put the pieces together.

I think too much is being put into Rex not playing tonight.

1 -- The starting OLine played the whole first half with Beck which would seem to argue against the "shanny sits his starters" idea
2 -- Grossman is very much a known quantity (where is johnny5 lol)
3 -- Beck missed the first preseason game and needed snaps and practice

I will be glad once it is over, and I hope they don't wait to announce the decision, although the team may very well already know (what did TWilliams say;))
