Who do you want to start at QB?

I think we start Grossman not saying he will be our starter for the entire season but he will get the 1st crack at it.

I know it's been said, but the point isn't that Rex looked more or less polished, but instead that a guy with a total of 4 starts played a longtime vet to a basic tie. You put Beck in, in the hopes that he can translate book learning, and on field reality to improved performance over the course of a season.

to me,the point is exactly that rex is more comfortable in the offense. the coaches shouldn't play the guy that "might" get better as the season goes on. they should play the guy that's ready right now. they should play the guy that gives them the best chance to win in week 1,not the guy who "might" give them a better chance to win in week 9 or 10. rex finished last season as the starter and to me,beck did not do enough to take the starting spot from him.
i would also disagree with the notion that rex and beck played to a "basic tie". rex clearly outplayed beck this pre season. the stats might be close but not their actual play on the field.

I'm not sold on either guy for the record, but a choice has to be made.

If I had to choose, I'd pick Andrew Luck. Kid was ballin again yesterday. Doesn't look like he's going to pull a Locker this year.

I like it how Beck fans straight up act like the last preseason showing against a second string bunch of bums didn't even happen.

It's like taking 33% of this miracle man unknown quantity big upside mobile QB's preseason audition and saying let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He's earned it. Now let me go stick my head back in the sand.
its all about upside... I really dont think they are going to the Super Bowl , so you might as well see if JB can be our qb for the next 5+ years..

First, I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who is a "fan" of either of our QB's. It is the choice of the lesser of two evils. With Grossman, we know just how good/bad he can be. Not so with Beck. Each flashed some good stuff. Each looked bad. Beck just looked bad last.

I don't like either of'em. I guess I prefer Beck only b/c I know Grossman's best is only inconsistent mediocrity with flashes of awful. W/ Beck, there is the hope that he may be more consistently mediocre than Grossman.

If you think Grossman is a sure thing, then you have had your head in the sand for most of his career.

I think that too many people are judging Beck by the redskins last performance with Tampa Bay. I think that Shanahan accomplished 2 things that game.

One was to play vanilla to hopefully confuse the giants a little. And the other reason was to see how Beck (and the offensive line) played and responded without the help of much gameplanning. As a byproduct, it also confused everyone to who will be the starting qb.

I think it definitely will be Beck.

What if Rex Grossman is actually ready to become a far more consistent QB?

Dude throws four td's against the Cowboys in a very limited audition last year behind a dysfunctional o-line and many many Redskin fans are still convinced that you know what you get with Grossman. Good and Bad.

Except Grossman hasn't gotten any kind of real shot with the Washington Redskins to even show if he has actually developed.

What if Grossman is in fact ready to be mostly good Rex?

Because a mostly good Rex Grossman is an ABOVE AVERAGE NFL QB.

Just for the record I don't even know if I like Grossman I just don't get why Beck gets the benefit of the doubt just because nobody has seen him play.

Grossman already has the experience making the same mistakes that Beck will invariably have to make if he is ever going to become a consistent NFL starter.

Neither guy is great, but Grossman got a team to the SB, Beck can never say he did. Of all the QB battles and controversies we have had with the Skins over the time I have been a Warpather and even beyond, why do folks never wise up? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. We have been fooled more than twice now, way more than twice if you go back to Heath Shuler. Why do you all think Beck is the better option? Just because he is more mobile than Grossman? Remember Vick at ATL? He was mobile as hell, but couldn't get the job done in the passing game. Grossman is Mr. Cool in the pocket, Beck is great in the bootleg. How many guys in the NFL went to the SB doing the bootleg all the time? Grossman has actually started more than one season worth of games. Mr. Beck only 4. I get razed a lot for taking Gus Frerotte for me screen name, as he was a mediocre QB, but at least he made the Pro Bowl, etc. This Beck doesn't look so much more promising the Gus, so why do you jump on the bandwagon so to speak? Grossman could elevate his game to starter status right away, while Beck is 30 and yet to be a regular starter. I understand why you aren't completely sold on Rex, but why do you think Beck is going to light it up or even just do better than Rex? His audition for the job hasn't been so hot.
