Lets not nit pick a few thrown ducks and give Beck a break for now.
He was put in the game 4th quarter while we were losing to a divisional team. (One that beat us 59-28 last season) If I was the coach I would have either put Beck in at the half or make Rex take the full effect of the loss. Rex still maintains that he can get it done. Personally I think he is borderline delusional.
Beck had a tremendous amount of mental pressure put on him going in as well as the Eagle D. I think under the circumstances he did incredible!
HTTR!
So is Santana Moss apparently...

He threw some ducks but also threw a couple of good deep passes. I just hope he is durable though. He got hurt in the offseason and now he's going to get hit every now and then, so I hope he stays healthy.
Good concern.
The thing that worries me is that in the last preseason game Beck made some Grossman-esque poor decisions, too. I hope I am proven wrong but I remain uncertain that Beck will spare us boner plays, even if we leave aside fumbling when he's not even hit.

That doesn't surprise me coming from Moss at this point in his career.

He definitely threw two ducks by my count and couple of low balls.

The discussion has been had, but when did Beck have his regular season chance? On a 1-15 team with a HC headed out the door? He stepped in, played poised, and ought to get the next start. Hopefully film study tells the Shanahan's the same thing everyone else saw, that 3 out of 4 of RG's int's were bad decisions. Had he just tucked it, and not forced, the outcome might have been different.
If he would have tucked it we would have just ended up with a fumble instead of an interception. I dont dislike him, but he just turns the ball over too much. Ask any player or coach whats the best indicator of who won/lost a game and its always the same thin - TURNOVERS!!!
I have no grand illusions that Beck is going to come in and dominate but its a virtual guarantee that he will turn the ball over a whole lot less. And thats waht our team needs.

Santana needs to shut up on this one, sorry I love that guy but he's a clown if he wants to start a war between teammates. Grossman sux its that simple

I hate to say nerves, but believe it was. Lets see a full game with starter reps and proper preperation. Rex has gotten worse as the season has gone on. Beck, not completely sold either, but lets at least give him a proper shot.
Honestly, I think Beck is extremely accurate on the short to medium throws. When he is on, he is on. But more importantly, he doesn't force balls into double, and tripple coverage. EVERYTIME Rex threw a pick yesterday, I found myself asking, "WTF did he see there?". The antithesis of Grossman is Brady. He just calmy takes what the D gives him, and marches down the for the GAS!!
NEW ACRONYM: GAS - Go-Ahead Score

You have to also realize that Beck was not playing with ANY of the starting skill positions. It was almost as if he was set up to fail. When he played with the Starting receivers, he looked 10 times better than Grossman. Let's also not forget, that Shanny was all about Beck in the preseason as well.
QUESTION: If you wanted the two QB's to have an even competition, why would you give one of them a Whole game, most of which was with the starters, and then give the other one, a whole game with none of the starters?
