I havent heard a single person mention this on tv or anywhere else,he actually slugs her in the face twice. The first time he just knocks her sideways a little bit and after that first punch is when she gets pissed and rushes at him then he gets in the knockout blow.

I saw a tweet that Harvey Levin from TMZ says he has evidence the NFL had saw the video.Hard to believe the police would withhold the video from them or they couldnt obtain it but TMZ can, total bullshit.I've never had a problem with any commissioners before but I cant stand Goodell,I hope he gets caught in a lie and gets bent over

The NFL NEVER contacted the casino to request video of Ray Rice brutalizing his fiancee ... TMZ Sports has learned. Commissioner Rodger Goodell made his disciplinary decision in the dark, which raises the question ... Is that the way he wanted it?

Sources connected with the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City tell TMZ Sports ... NO ONE from the NFL ever asked for the video inside the elevator ... video that was compelling enough to get Rice instantly fired.

Sources who worked at the casino at the time of the incident tell us ... if the NFL had asked for the video, they would have gladly complied.

Without video ... Goodell blindly justified the initial 2-game suspension, based on the only evidence they had -- from the two people in the elevator, who called it mutual combat.

Multiple sources tell TMZ Sports ... the casino made a copy of the elevator surveillance video for police. We're also told Rice's lawyer had a copy of the video, which he got in the criminal case.

An NFL source tells us they requested "any and all information" from law enforcement in the criminal case but got nothing because it was a pending case. But the NFL had other options ... namely going to the casino or Rice's lawyer -- but the NFL never bothered to ask.

BTW ... it may sound crazy for Rice's lawyer to voluntarily hand over the video, but the NFL had a lot of leverage ... in the form of severe penalties if Rice didn't ante up the tape.

So the question ... does the NFL have incompetent investigators, or was it just easier to protect a player and turn a blind eye to video that would have forced Goodell's hand? Both scenarios are pretty disgusting.

Thats on TMZ sports front page.

So did the NFL see the first video of the dragging off the elevator? Sounds like Goodell stance is we didnt want to see the other video because it would force his hand to take a stance. Pretty damn poor by the NFL.

Can the NFL just go ask for that video? The NFL is not the court system.

They can ask for the video. They cant subpoena anyone if the answer is no, but they can definitely ask for a copy of it or to see it.

The NFL certainly can ask for it. NFL Security has a strong, long standing partnership with the FBI, for the NFL to simply say they didnt see it and werent aware is truely laughable.

At halftime, they had interviews with some of the Ravens players, and I applaud what Canty said in reference to the news sites showing the video. He said it was disrespectful to Janay in the fact they are forcing her to relive a horrible moment in her life, and that they should show better respect. I actually agree with that.

I don't get the uproar over the video.
From day one the report was he knocked her out in an elevator, the video shows him knocking her out in an elevator.
What did you guys expect to see?

First and foremost Rice should be in jail.

What was Goodell thinking when he suspended him for 2 games?
The fact that he did not attempt to watch the video of the assault is unbelievable.
Goodell gave him a 2 game suspension, that should be that. I don't understand how they can suspended him again. This isn't new evidence, it's been there available the whole time!!!

I would like Goodell to serve an indefinite ban for his handling of this case.
I hope Rice fights the new suspension but I also hope he ends up in jail and never plays in the NFL again.

F... Ray Rice and Goodell!

They were expecting to see her instigating the fight (as she claimed and apologized for) and the video shows otherwise. That's what the uproar is about. (to me)

Hearing about something and actually seeing it are two different things. Imagine if there was tape of Vick killing dogs? He likely would have had a tougher time getting his 2nd chance.

I concur with this sentiment as well. It truly is one thing to hear it and another to view it.
