Also you have to wonder if he will be worth a damn by the time this team is good.

I was thinking the same. I'm hoping 7-9 next season.

Signing Iupati would probably be an overpay but he might help stabilize things. Since we don't have talent in the drafted players that are on the bench, this might be a must sign.

Guard isn't a position smart teams pay top FA money on.

We could turn it around in a year or two. If not well then no harm no foul. All we need is an 1980 US Hockey team style run

DJax's contract has been worth the money spent.

Jackson's 2015- 17 cap number is $9.25 million- more than double last years cap number

When you got a dominant road grader, you do.

You need some stability somewhere in the offense, and the offensive line is the best place to start.

After hiring a very good o-line coach in Callahan, get a top guard FA like Iupati, and if we trade down, get a good first-rounder o-lineman. This all gives us the opportunity to have a better than average line quickly.

To me it looks like this is the direction the team is headed. Start your rebuilding process by creating a very good line that can make the running game your primary offense, and make the team less dependent on QB play (until we get that sh*t figured out).
