Good read on Guice

Nice read, thanks for posting this! I'm starting to warm up to the idea of drafting Guice although I'm torn between this and drafting a defender. We need playmakers on defense and yet we need RB badly to help out Smith..

I've got no problem with Guice. I do have a problem with him at 13.

Grade wise at 13:

Its gonna come down to Secondary players: Minak Fitzpatrick and Derwin James vs DLine players Payne and Vea. The LB from Georgia Smith and CB from Ohio State could be in play. Maybe DE from Michigan.

The only offense player would be Ridley WR from Alabama. (who, for the record, is overrated imo) Nelson the Guard will gone.

Then you have probably 3 RBs all grading extremely close: Guice, Ronald Jones and Sony Michel. They are most likely graded in that order with Guice being a (10 scale) 8.0, Jones 7.9 and Michel 7.8)..................Probably are not best player available at 13, unless the Skins in too much in love with one over the other.

BUT the fuckin problem is this: The RB situation across the league is quietly dire. I see absolutely no way any of these guys make it to our pick in the 2nd round. NONE. I see Tampa Bay, Giants, Cleveland, Indy, Denver and Oakland all competing for RB early second round.

Gonna be interesting for sure. The easy answer is 'trade back', but most know its never easy to move back.

I agree, they need to go DL, or great player that slides, or trade down and add a pick

I think we can trade back and still get guice.

I think we can too, but I always believe in 10-15 picks too early for the person you want vs. being 1 pick too late

That line of thinking lends itself to falling in love with one player without giving appropriate consideration for your alternatives.

You’re by definition espousing a ‘reach’ strategy. Foolhardy.

I don't think there is any non special teams position that is not draftable in a certain spot or round. If you think that guy is a great player and will help the team win, you draft him. Running back, guard, etc. It takes 22 guys playing well and together to consistently win. I don't want to pass on great RB because he's a RB. That's the opposite of reaching (passing) and I think that's just as bad. So if they have Guice rated highly at 13, take him. If not, pick someone else or trade down.

I really like Payne...I like Derwin James. I have mixed emotions about vea and Fitzpatrick...lil overrated imo...vea more than Fitzpatrick. Smith the ILB is my question mark...I like him but ILB seem like bust city that high.

Guice is a first round talent and i don’t think it would be too big of a reach...I think the biggest hangup is the fact it’s the position of RB so high. Barkley is real deal though. If gruden and staff consider him to be a back who could take our run game to next level...I could get behind that.
