Depends on what they think Eli has left, if the answer is 2-3 more years drafting a QB now may not be a priority

True, at least we know he is a good dancer.

Everyone must be ready for draft. Comment frequency is plummeting.

It seems like there might be a chance we draft Dline player in 3rd round (trade up?) or later instead of first 2 picks. According to John Keim, Redskins had workout with Tim Settle who is rated 3rd round player..

My guess is: first scenario will be either James or Fitzpatrick in 1st round and a RB in 2nd round, then trade up in 3rd round to draft Settle or similar rated Dline player. Or second scenario is draft Guice in 1st round, then maybe Dline player (Settle?) in 2nd round. Or we might just wait until later rounds to draft Dline player.

I'd love to have him but not at 13, which I believe we can trade back around 20 ish and still have him there. He reminds me of CP a little, same kind of build and both pass block very good.

He's in DC today meeting with BA again.

I'm a big fan of Mike Mayock, so I'm posting his final Top 5 by Position for this draft. I made some comments in Italics.

Mike Mayock unveils the third and final of his position-by-position rankings for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Quarterback

1. Sam Darnold, USC
2. Josh Allen, Wyoming
3. Josh Rosen, UCLA
4. Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
5. Lamar Jackson, Louisville

Fall: Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State (T-5)

Nobody here really floats my boat. If anyone here can become a Super Star, it's Lamar Jackson.

Running back

1. Saquon Barkley, Penn State
2. Sony Michel, Georgia
3. Derrius Guice, LSU
4. Nick Chubb, Georgia
T-5. Ronald Jones II, USC
T-5. Rashaad Penny, San Diego State

Rise: Michel (3), Chubb (T-5)
Fall: Guice (2), Jones (4)

Seems to be a good group. Michel at #2 surprises me.

Wide receiver

1. DJ Moore, Maryland
2. Calvin Ridley, Alabama
3. Courtland Sutton, SMU
4. Christian Kirk, Texas A&M
T-5. James Washington, Oklahoma State
T-5. Anthony Miller, Memphis

Rise: Moore (2), Sutton (4), Washington (NR)
Fall: Ridley (1), Kirk (3), Sutton (3), DJ Chark, LSU (T-5)

DJ Moore over Ridley is legit, IMO. Moore has it all. Ridley is just a bit small. Very close on those two.

Tight end

1. Hayden Hurst, South Carolina
2. Mike Gesicki, Penn State
3. Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State
4. Mark Andrews, Oklahoma
5. Chris Herndon, Miami

Rise: Gesicki (3), Herndon (NR)
Fall: Goedert (2), Will Dissly, Washington (5)

Only Hurst is the complete package, IMO.

Tackle

1. Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame
2. Kolton Miller, UCLA
3. Connor Williams, Texas
4. Tyrell Crosby, Oregon
T-5. Orlando Brown, Oklahoma
T-5. Geron Christian, Louisville

Rise: Miller (3), Christian (NR)
Fall: Williams (2), Martinas Rankin, Mississippi State (T-5)

Good class at the top, IMO.

Interior OL

1. Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame
2. James Daniels, Iowa
3. Billy Price, Ohio State
4. Will Hernandez, UTEP
T-5. Isaiah Wynn, Georgia
T-5. Frank Ragnow, Arkansas
T-5. Austin Corbett, Nevada

Rise: Daniels (3), Price (T-5), Corbett (NR)
Fall: Wynn (2)

Very strong and deep class, IMO, and there are more good ones besides these guys.

Interior DL

1. Vita Vea, Washington
2. Da'Ron Payne, Alabama
3. Taven Bryan, Florida
4. Nathan Shepherd, Fort Hays State
T-5. Harrison Phillips, Stanford
T-5. Derrick Nnadi, Florida State

Rise: Shepherd (NR), Nnadi (NR)
Fall: Maurice Hurst, Michigan (4)

Fall off after the Top 3. Sad to see Hurst out of the Top 5. I hope he's able to play in the NFL.

Edge rusher

1. Bradley Chubb, N.C. State
2. Marcus Davenport, UTSA
3. Harold Landry, Boston College
4. Lorenzo Carter, Georgia
5. Rasheem Green, USC

Rise: Green (NR)
Fall: Arden Key, LSU (T-5), Sam Hubbard, Ohio State (T-5)

It's Chubb and then a bunch of "just guys".

Linebacker

1. Roquan Smith, Georgia
2. Tremaine Edmunds, Virginia Tech
3. Rashaan Evans, Alabama
4. Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State
5. Uchenna Nwosu, USC

Rise: Smith (2), Evans (4)
Fall: Edmunds (1), Vander Esch (3)

Nice Group.

Cornerback

1. Denzel Ward, Ohio State
2. Jaire Alexander, Louisville
3. Mike Hughes, UCF
4. Isaiah Oliver, Colorado
T-5. Donte Jackson, LSU
T-5. Josh Jackson, Iowa

Rise: Hughes (4), Oliver (5), Donte Jackson (NR)
Fall: Josh Jackson (3)

Another good group.

Safety

1. Minkah Fitzpatrick, Alabama
2. Derwin James, Florida State
3. Ronnie Harrison, Alabama
4. Justin Reid, Stanford
5. Jessie Bates III, Wake Forest

Rise: Reid (5)
Fall: Bates (4)

I like this group, too.

Irrefutable

I agree Moore is much better than Ridley. He has better size, strength, and quickness.

On his GM Street podcast, The Ringer's Mike Lombardi suggested Georgia RB Sony Michel could slip in the draft for medical reasons.

"There's a lot of teams telling me there's a medical concern here, so he could slip a little bit," said Lombardi, a longtime NFL executive who most recently worked for the Patriots. "His medical grade is a little iffy." Lombardi admitted he doesn't know exactly what the medical issue is. On tape, Michel is arguably the second-best running back in this class behind only Saquon Barkley.

This to me screams someone really would like Sony Michel to fall safely into the second round to get chosen.

A medical issue, but hey I have no clue what it is...really?

No kidding. This is a team ploy that is broadcast by some gullible reporter about some player just before every draft. Could Lombardi's prior association with the NE Patriots have set him up to fall for this old trick?

It's not like I'm suggesting that any given team that sits at the end of the first round and needs a RB would do such a thing.
