The answer to the health care crisis: single payer healthcare.

Single-Payer: Answers and Facts about Health Care for All (http://www.grahamazon.com/sp/)

The animated version is a good overview.

Only political candidate to support if you want everyone covered fairly and efficiently, and believe that health care is a right for everyone?

Dennis Kucinich!

Kucinich for President 2008 (http://www.kucinich.us)

Universal Health Care | Kucinich for President 2008 (http://kucinich.us/issues/universalhealth.php)
Dennis Kucinich is the only Presidential Candidate with a plan for a Universal Single Payer, NOT FOR PROFIT Healthcare system.

MEDICARE FOR ALL

The plan in embodied in HR 676 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:H.R.676:)the Conyers-Kucinich bill, written by Dennis Kucinich & John Conyers

The plan covers all healthcare needs, including dental care, mental care, vision care, prescription drugs, and long-term care - at NO extra cost!

Kucinich's plan, HR 676, is supported by 78 Members of Congress, 250 Union Locals, and 14,000 physicians and is endorsed by the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

"Health care is an essential safeguard of human life and dignity and there is an obligation for society to ensure that every person be able to realize this right."

Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, Chicago Archdiocese

I love the line "At no extra cost!" And, its endorsed by the New Hampshire Democratic Party! Sweet Fancy Moses.

i love how people look at party affiliation, and dismiss new ideas before reading or learning the plan

I love that too. The important thing is that the program does in fact cost not a penny more than what is already spent on healthcare.

The difference? Cutting out the insurance companies - they use up 33% approximately of all health care costs. That savings means, for one thing, that 18,000 people will no longer need to die in the United States every year due to lack of health insurance, and bankruptcies will decline dramatically.

This is the future, it is only a question of how soon we get there.

First off nothing is provide at no extra cost because it has a cost to provide the coverage unless the doctors agree to provide those services for free. Second can anyone come up with any goverment program that has not cost more than what they said it would. Someone mentioned that the insurance Co. use up 33% of the health care cost so that means that the goverment is going to run the system for less? I doupt that. If its past come every election polititcians will run on promisses of getting new things covered and that won't drive prices up. So how much is everyone will to pay for this health ins. 15%, 20% tax increase. We all hear that 40 million Americans do not have health ins and its implyed that they cant afford coverage which is only a half truth. How many of these are younger people who just don't feel they need coverage because they are young and healthy maybe 10 to 15 million? How many of these people decide just to risk it and go out and buy a new car or a bigger house and just don't buy health ins.? 10 million or so. So now we are down to maybe 10 to 20 million people and we want to risk our entire health program on such a few. Lets fix what we have and move on. I don'r care if this is a Dem. or Rep. idea.

If you read that stuff closer you will see little things thrown in to make things look worse as in the how they mention bankruptcies. If you read they say medical bills and dept. Well last time I check dept was allways a big reason people went bankrupt and they just slide that in to make the numbers higher. They also talked about a lady who injured her arm in an accident 5 years ago and was denied coverage because of prexsisting condition. I would also like to know the rest of that story because that makes no sense at all and is a very poor example. If you have health ins. like they said she did you can move it to another co. and they cannot not underwrite pre exsisting conditions. I know this for a fact as I just switched health ins. and my daughter had racked up 50 or so thousand in med bills which they could not underwrite against because we had prior ins. They also seem to skip around any real numbers to the cost of this program. They use a guy who owns a business and cannot afford to pay his $400 per month ins. but they some how think that he could afford to pay for his and his 4 emp. under this new plan. Huh! If I had time I could find more errors or lake of information about this plan and wanting us Americans to give our goverment control of around 10% of our economy for them to control and run like a well oil machine just like Social Security. As I said bad idea no matter what party is in control.
