Agreed Christopher Nolan or Ridley Scott.
Tarantinos another one, although some didn't think highly of Jackie Brown and Death Proof.

^ Finchers a good one. Seven was a great flick as was social network. He also did fight club which is widely considered a great movie. I thought it was ok.

Lee Unkrich. Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. (co-director but still counts), and Toy Story 3 (which he directed by himself). Those movies are good no matter how old, smart, or anything else you are.

I personally think Tarantino is super overrated. I'd agree about someone naming David Fincher and if he keeps up the pace he's on, Ben Affleck.
