I thought the Hangover was an absolute scream. My face hurt when I left the theater from laughing/smiling for two straight hours. If you don't have an uptight approach to the film and just go into it realizing it's going to be a raunchy off the cuff type of comedy, you'll love it.
Haven't seen Watchmen or Knowing yet. I think District 9 is going to be a really good one.
I don't know, I have mixed feelings about that one. It looks good from the previews and at the same time looks like it could disappoint. I think I am going to wait for it on disk or something.
On another note I am going to see GI Joe this weekend. So far the reviews from the premier in the UK have been great. I will have to turn off my military bullshit meter to watch it and enjoy it for what it is (Fantasy). Seeing how I enjoyed the cartoon as a kid it shouldn't be that hard.

I still have not been to the movies in about 10 years. My time is coming with the little one now 2 1/2 she is getting close to the age. I actually enjoy childrens movies and enjoy watching the chidrens reactions to what is going on. Adults hide the emotions some while kids just let them fly as they are getting into a movie.

I really agree with that last sentence, which is exactly why I think it will be even funnier the second time around. I may see it again tomorrow.
thought it was ok the first time, much better the second time.
I got to see a sneak preview of G.I. Joe at a Marine base on Saturday; I really liked it!
The story is pretty much any episode of the cartoon but everything else made up for it.
They found a way to keep it entertaining.

Loved The Hangover. Great movie. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. The whole theatre was rolling.

See that's the thing... I do like raunchy comedy- I think most Apatow movies are hilarious (Superbad, etc). I do have to say I was impressed with Hangover's story-telling (the whole mystery of the previous night was unique). Plus the film was one of those few comedies that actually finished with a strong third act, where most comedies usually fall flat. I just didn't find myself laughing all that hard throughout.
In terms of laugh-out-loud raunch, I actually just saw the unrated version of "Sex Drive"... really surprised at how much I was entertained.

I just watched The Hangover and, while pretty funny, I am struggling to find why it is labeled as hilarious and why people are/were raving about it.
Yupp felt the same way.
